Step 4. Locate the triple dot menu and tap on it to reveal the Factory Reset option.

Step 5.  A tap on this option will accomplish factory resetting a Chromecast device.

Step 1. After factory resetting the Chromecast, there would be a state where the orange light changes into the white light and the device is plugged into the TV.

Step 2. Now tap the Add icon on your smartphone using the Google Home app.

Step 4. Wait for the scan to complete and tap on the Yes option once the app finds your Chromecast. And check the code which should be the same on both your TV and Phone.

Step 6. Now choose your Wi-Fi network name from the list and the app will automatically take the password from your phone.

Step 7. You will get an option to link your Google account and this is completely your discretion if you want to do so. Let the process complete.

If your mouse settings keep resetting in Windows 10, we have prepared all you need to know. A good wired mouse, a wireless mouse, or even a touchpad can be enough to make your life easier. But what do you do when your mouse is not correctly set up?

Many users report that they changed the mouse settings to fit their needs, and after a PC restart or a Windows 10 update, those settings reverted.

This is a common issue, well-known by Microsoft, and it’s addressed in every new update. When the problem doesn’t solve by itself through an update, you’ll have to do it yourself.

Why do mouse settings keep resetting on Windows 10?

We gather that a few elements can trigger the problem from users who have registered this problem. Here are some that you should take note of:

Outdated drivers – Drivers are essential to linking hardware with software, but when outdated, you may expect some issues.

Outdated OS – If the Windows on your PC is old, it may result in conflict with other drivers and OS modules, which might result in the mouse settings being reset again.

While this is not a comprehensive list, it makes up the built of causes. However, the solutions we suggest will help if the mouse settings reset by themselves on Windows 10, if they won’t save, or if Windows 10 mouse settings reset on every login.

Additionally, note that the previously detailed solutions also work if you encounter the following errors:

Mouse pointer speed keeps resetting in Windows 10 – Many users describe how mouse options reset every time they restart or turn off the PC. In such a case, you’re entitled to suspect a driver issue or hardware conflict.

Mouse DPI keeps resetting – Mouse DPI continuously resetting is also a common bug. If you have Synaptics drivers, changing their settings in the registry often does wonders.

What can I do if mouse settings keep resetting on Windows 10? 1.

Run

Windows troubleshooter

In many instances, the mouse drivers could be partially installed or defective. You can run Windows’ troubleshooter to solve these kinds of problems.

2. Update the mouse drivers

Expert tip:

If that does not work, we recommend trying Outbyte Driver Updater, which will scan your PC and update any missing or outdated drivers.

Update your device drivers with ease and try Outbyte Driver Updater for the newest versions.

3. Use Registry Editor

If you have Synaptics drivers, this solution will work for you, as it worked for many users.

Modifying registry keys can be a bit complicated and cause problems, so be sure to change the keys as stated in the guide.

4. Perform a clean boot

Windows uses only a minimum number of drivers and startup programs in the Clean Boot state. Doing this lets you identify if any third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

We hope that these solutions worked for you. Additionally, you can try some quick common fixes like checking the mouse hardware and changing the USB connection port.

Installing the latest updates for Windows 10 could help you out this time too.

With most Chromecast devices, a smartphone or tablet is needed to set up the device, as well as to use it. However, you could get away with using a computer once you’ve set the device up. Benefits Of Leadership Coaching: 4 Steps To Measure Its Roi

blog / Leadership Learn to Measure the ROI of Leadership Coaching With These 4 Steps

Share link

Leadership coaching or executive coaching has become essential for business professionals due to high market competition and a rapidly changing business environment. However, people often struggle to measure the effectiveness of these programs. In fact, according to the 2023 Leadership Coaching Report, nearly 73% of businesses could not measure the impact of leadership training. This holds true for those who participate in such training programs. That such activity is essential for leaders, managers, and aspiring leaders is evident, as it can impact overall productivity and growth. Therefore, for anyone interested in leadership coaching, it is essential to understand the benefit it can have on their career. This blog explains how the effectiveness of leadership coaching can be determined using KPIs and ROI.

Leadership Coaching and its Effectiveness

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are quantifiable elements or metrics that help evaluate the performance and skills of a person, team, or program. Regarding any leadership role, the KPIs include seamless change management, goal achievement, and employee engagement. And all these factors are important aspects of leadership training and development. However, even though it is undoubtedly essential to integrate this into companies and help leaders and aspiring leaders to skill up, it does face many challenges.

Some of these include budget constraints, a lack of ability to measure Return on Investment (ROI) of the leadership coaching program, the quality of leadership coaches, and more. Professionals spend vast amounts of money and resources on leadership training. Therefore, measuring the value generated by leadership coaching programs is essential to ensure they get significant returns on their investment.

What are the Best KPIs to Track the Effectiveness of Leadership Coaching?

For those who partake in leadership coaching programs, the most common KPIs to track their effectiveness include:

Behavior change

Performance improvement

Enhanced productivity

Innovation

Knowledge retention

Conflict resolution

Four Steps to Measure the Effectiveness of a Leadership Coaching Program

Leadership coaching is a subjective phenomenon, and the factors in determining its effectiveness vary for every individual. Moreover, one cannot discount external factors that influence a leader’s behavior or results. Thus, it is essential to focus on specific aspects to measure any positive changes resulting from leadership training and development. Let’s delve into those factors to analyze the effectiveness of leadership coaching programs:

Goal Achievement

This metric evaluates the extent to which learners have achieved the goals set at the beginning of the coaching program. It measures progress in accomplishing specific milestones and ensures tangible improvement in one’s leadership capabilities.

Performance Improvement

In addition to goal achievement, it is also essential to track the personal progress of learners. It helps analyze productivity and how it adds value to overall organizational results.

Skill Application

This helps assess what skills candidates acquire during leadership training and how well they can apply them in their day-to-day work. Some ways to measure skill application are to check improved behaviors, decision-making approaches, communication styles, and conflict-resolution techniques.

Long-Term Sustainability

This involves assessing whether the skills and techniques learned during leadership training and development programs can be sustained long-term. This demonstrates the program’s ability to create lasting behavior change and leadership growth.

Apart from the points mentioned above, individual self-assessments and finding out if the skills learned during coaching have also benefited the organization are also important metrics to determine the performance of leadership coaching:

The Concept of ROI in Leadership Coaching Programs

Leadership coaching has tangible and intangible effects, such as better communication, improved stakeholder relationships, enhanced performance, higher employee and customer engagement, and more. However, one needs specific factors to analyze the effectiveness of a leadership training program. This is where ROI comes in.

But what is ROI? Simply put, it refers to the return or the value generated from the time, effort, and cost of any strategy, program, or undertaking. In this case, it would be the ROI of undertaking leadership coaching programs.

Relationship Between KPI and ROI

KPIs and ROI have a similar role to play—in assessing the performance of leadership coaching. However, KPIs help evaluate the effectiveness of leadership coaching programs on metrics such as employee engagement and customer satisfaction. Conversely, ROI helps determine the overall impact of leadership and development and the value it creates over the long term, especially monetary value.

How to Determine the ROI of a Leadership Coaching Program

Most leadership coaching programs do not demonstrate quantifiable results. Hence, it becomes challenging to understand your return on investment on such learning and development. However, a few factors can help you determine their impact.

Check Whether the Purpose was Achieved

There can be multiple reasons to do a leadership coaching program. For example, it could be being promoted to senior positions within an organization or wanting to take up more challenging professional roles. Some might also want to learn new skills or be better leaders to motivate or inspire team members. Many people do leadership training programs to experience growth or explore their potential. Therefore, whether or not the purpose was achieved at the end of the leadership coaching program can help determine its effectiveness. If multiple objectives exist to pursue a leadership program, check whether most objectives have been achieved.

Growth in Network

Another key factor in testing a leadership coaching program’s impact is to assess the network’s growth during or after the program. For example, if a leadership coaching program offers multiple networking events or collaboration opportunities with industry leaders, it has a positive impact. Networking with business leaders or other business professionals can help get referrals for one’s business, services, or job references. It facilitates professional as well as personal growth.

Enhanced Market Value

One of the best ways to check the ROI of leadership training programs is whether or not the program has helped increase one’s market value or worth. If the program helps acquire leadership soft and hard skills which contribute to securing a new role with high pay, its ROI can be easily determined.

Even though the ROI methodology helps evaluate the monetary impact of leadership coaching, it is considered a traditional and insufficient calculation method. This is due to two main reasons: First, leadership coaching measurement is based on subjective factors and self-assessment of leaders. Second, leadership growth and upskilling are intangible factors that cannot be measured with quantifiable methods.

Consequently, Return on Expectations (ROE) is a more holistic evaluation model for leadership training programs. It involves analyzing personal and professional goals, performance dashboards, and case studies, seeking feedback, and calculating ROI for specific, measurable corporate targets.

Steps To Take To Weather A Public Relations Crisis

A PR crisis occurs when negative events or reviews threaten your brand reputation.

Most companies will face bad PR at some point, but how they respond can determine the extent of the damage.

These six tips can help you navigate a PR crisis, limit the damage to your brand and learn from any mistakes.

This article is for small business owners who are interested in strengthening and protecting their brand reputation.

Public relations is a concept every small business has to deal with at some point. Whether you’re responding to online reviews or just ensuring general customer satisfaction, if you run a business that deals with the public, you’re in the public relations business. Part of public relations is effectively handling negative news, events or reviews related to your business.

Accidents happen. Problems pop up. Your business can never be fully safe from potential negative events that could affect your relationship with your customers. What’s important, however, is that you understand how to address these problems when they occur so you can mitigate damage and ensure your business weathers the PR storm.

Editor’s note: Looking for the right reputation management service for your business? Fill out the below questionnaire to have our vendor partners contact you about your needs.

What is a PR crisis?

Most businesses will face a public relations crisis at one time or another. Whether it’s a string of bad reviews or a serious executive scandal, a negative incident can have a powerful impact on a company’s reputation. No one expects you to be perfect, but they do expect you to be human. They will judge you based on the way you handle such instances.

A PR crisis is when any negative event or review related to your business gains traction in the public sphere. It could be related to an unhealthy business practice, a customer accident at your location, or an internal, employee-related issue. PR crises are important because they can taint your small business’s image in the minds of your customers.

While there are some strategies you can implement to mitigate damage, once the information is out there, your business will have to roll with the punches and do its best to turn a wrong into a right.

Examples of a PR crisis

Two examples of PR crises come from two well-known companies: Facebook and Uber. Facebook had to deal with data privacy issues related to Cambridge Analytica, which may have affected the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Uber struggled with internal issues regarding sexual harassment and hostile work environments.

In both cases, the companies made mistakes that small businesses can learn from. For example, they tried to deflect the issue. Facebook claimed that “something happened,” rather than admitting responsibility, and Uber attempted to “move in a new direction,” as if solving the issue were that simple.

Insincerity is a major concern with these responses, especially when some of the damage is deeply rooted in discriminatory beliefs and unjust actions.

What effect does a PR crisis have on your business?

While a PR crisis’s effect may be difficult to determine at first, it will definitely affect your business in the long run. Customers and clients want to interact with businesses they trust. Investors want assurance that their investments will pay off. If your company is caught in a PR storm, it puts that trust in jeopardy. All stakeholders — employees, suppliers, customers and anyone you do business with — may start to wonder whether they should remain involved with your organization, and worker morale is likely to suffer.

If your response is not immediate and strong, social media can spread and exacerbate the issue. What happens next might be completely outside your control. A lack of a strong response will likely result in the escalation of false rumors and even endanger business relationships.

Facebook is a perfect example of this. The Cambridge Analytica PR crisis changed the way Americans viewed Facebook, and its data privacy issues play a major role in the company’s future relationship with new and existing customers.

Key Takeaway

A public relations crisis threatens your brand reputation and can happen to any company. The best way to respond is with sincerity and genuine concern.

Keep it real after a PR crisis

If we’ve learned anything from high-profile PR disasters, it’s that hiding, deflecting and making insincere statements do not fit the bill. Stakeholders want to know upfront that your organization understands the role it played, or is perceived to have played, in any PR crisis. They want to see you take responsibility and communicate about future prevention measures.

“Getting ahead” of bad news may no longer be realistic, but it is possible to quickly shape and release statements that make it clear that your organization is being accountable and taking steps to resolve the current issue and prevent it from happening again. Brands must quickly acknowledge their part in any negative event and honestly tell stakeholders how they will improve.

An exception might occur when legal issues could be involved; in those cases, consult your legal team before issuing a response. If the crisis starts to get away from you, consult outside PR experts to help you devise a strategy to keep or regain stakeholders’ trust.

5 Steps To Becoming A Geat Team Leader

It’s been a while now since we all have some stability and great news in our lives. The never-ending challenges put upon us all due to the lack of finances, resources and so on make every day appear to be an uphill battle at work and at home. These types of scenarios are not new to our world. Many generations before us have lived through similar or worse predicaments and have always come out stronger in the end. We still need to get through our day, be our best and continue to believe that there is some sort of relief coming our way sooner versus later.

Being a leader, whether you are actually responsible for a team or just want to make a positive impact on your day and the day of those around you, means finding a way to rally the troops and redirect everyone’s attention from the negative and to the positive. In fact, great leadership comes in all shapes, sizes, steps on the ladder and so on. As 2009 crawls to a close and 2010 rises with a little more hope as a better year, there are some ways that you can lead your team, your manager and your co-workers to ban together and push through to the greener grass.

Five Ways to Be Great

Get Together – Having regular meetings is only useful if the meetings are well run and serve a purpose. Otherwise, they are a time waster. If you are setting a meeting in place, there needs to be a start and end time and people need to adhere to it. An agenda should be distributed before the meeting so attendees are well-prepared for what is being discussed and, if possible, come equipped with answers and useful information. Agenda items should include amount of time allotted for that particular discussion and someone should be held accountable for keeping track of the time. It’s also beneficial if someone takes notes of table discussions for a separate meeting.

Being proactive about the meeting ahead of time and keeping things under control during the meeting will lead to an increase in productivity and morale.

Rule – Set up simple rules about how decisions should be made. This inspires the best in all of us. By nature, humans want to do the right thing and to be able to take direction and run with it is an empowering experience. If you take the time to set rules in place that ultimately make everyone’s life easier, you are doing a great service to your business or organization. Make sure you include the team in dreaming up and signing off on these rules. It is important to collaborate and to define what is needed and how it works best for everyone. You’ll also find people more vested in the process if they were one of the decision-makers on making decisions.

Examine – Examining and analyzing what has worked in the past helps you make smart decisions in the future. You want to repeat successful steps, not failures. Taking the time to review and report about what worked after each project should be shared as a “lessons learned” document for all to learn and grow from. I like to refer to this process as “reflect and act.” The template is simple. Record three things you learned by doing specific activities. Then identify three things you plan to do differently based on what you learned from doing those activities. Finally, identify three skills you want to improve because of what you learned while performing these activities.

Aim High, Think Big –We all need to be practical from time to time but this is an era where we can dream big and take risks. Keeping your mind open to new ideas, alternative solutions and other problem solving skills will benefit everyone on the team or teams working together towards a shared goal. Keep track of ideas in one place so others can build upon it when possible. No idea is a bad one.

Transform – Transformation is an exciting opportunity for some and a scary place for others. The trick is to get everyone on the same page with the same level of confidence in the new direction so it is a positive experience for all. This takes patience, understanding and a lot of empathy to convince others less comfortable with change to get on board. Try positioning any new rules or direction as the baby steps taken towards the 2010 goals and strategies.

Remember, people are a bit more open to change and new paths as the new year begins and this is a great time to start that ball rolling.
