Suggested March 2024 Okx And Manchester City Launch Interactive Avatar Campaign With Top Players

OKX, a world-leading Web3 technology company and Training Kit Partner of Manchester City has today kicked off a new interactive metaverse avatar campaign with the Club. The new experience at chúng tôi gives fans the opportunity to personalize their own digital avatars in Manchester City training kits and pre-match warm-up apparel with OKX branding.

To mark the kick-off, a hero video featuring top Manchester City players as giant avatars exploring Manchester as fans make their way to the stadium will be debuted in a multi-channel campaign during Manchester City’s home clash with fellow Premier League title contenders Arsenal. The video will announce the new experience and inspire fans to “Play for the City” and get their own personalized digital avatars in the Manchester City x OKX kit.

Haider Rafique, Global Chief Marketing Officer, OKX, said: “The metaverse experiences we’ve been developing with Manchester City represent a world of exciting new opportunities, and your avatar grants you access to these. This campaign is another example of how Manchester City and OKX are delivering on the promise of Web3 to enhance the fan experience and help people get closer to what OKX considers ‘a new way to the internet’.

Gavin Johnson, Media Director at City Football Group, said: “We’re pleased to launch this exciting campaign with OKX and Yahoo today. Bringing together expertise from all three collaborators, we’re able to offer Manchester City fans across the world the ability to connect and engage with the club in a unique and interesting new way and we hope fans enjoy the experience on offer.”

The experience was created by Manchester City and OKX in collaboration with Yahoo, which utilized its premium content creation team and technology to bring the experience to life and spread the word to fans. Working with the Ready Player Me platform to build the bespoke AR and avatar experience, Yahoo created the hero video and will distribute the content through digital Out of Home (DOOH) locations as well as video, display, and native formats across mobile, tablet and TV screens to inspire Manchester City fans to try it for themselves.

Josh Partridge, Head of EMEA at Yahoo, said: “We had a clear brief – to offer fans a fun, engaging, and immersive experience that gives them new ways to interact with the team and players through digital touchpoints in the stadium, the city, and even the virtual world. Using Yahoo’s experience in producing premium quality digital content and distributing it at scale directly to the club’s target audience means we can help forge deeper connections on digital platforms with their fans through new, interactive ways on match day and beyond.”

This is the latest Metaverse experience brought to fans by OKX and Manchester City following the launch of a training course with Rúben Dias and a tactical masterclass with İlkay Gündoğan in the OKX Collective metaverse. May will see fans invited into the metaverse for exclusive experiences with Jack Grealish and Alex Greenwood.

How To Launch A National/International Google Ads Campaign The Right Way?

Launching a new campaign is exciting! It could mean testing a new platform, strategy, or market.

With that said, new campaigns are expensive.

They can be temperamental as they overcome learning periods.

Sometimes account managers will invest heavily, in the beginning, to bypass the learning period, meaning ROAS will be lower.

I fully empathize and sympathize with Alessandra from Milano, when she asks:

The short answer: Yes, start with one market and prove out your strategies, ROAS, and path to scale. All campaigns require at least 2-4 weeks to get ramped up. At that time, you can assess if you have a winning core strategy to apply to other markets.

Long answer: Read on!

National/International Campaigns Have Very Specific Rules of Engagement:

Accounting for market subtleties in how people search/think.

Market demand for different products/services.

Regulatory considerations.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of overcomplicating a campaign because it’s “enterprise.” What matters is that the fundamentals are sound.

The short answer: Yes, start with one market and prove out your strategies, ROAS, and path to scale.

Fundamentals: Campaign Settings, Budgets & More

A campaign succeeds or fails based on its settings. If you’re going to target more than one location in a single campaign, you invite the following pitfalls:

Budget allocation is driven by highest search volume instead of profitability.

Ad delivery could be off due to time-zones being locked in at the account level.

As a general rule, I prefer limiting campaigns to a single time-zone. This ensures ad scheduling (dayparting) is accurate, and budgets aren’t forced to accommodate too many markets.

Some brands will create an account per country (especially if an important currency isn’t available in a given country).

Depending on the brand, this is either a crucial step due to the volatile exchange rates, or an organizational choice.

On the other hand, some features (like household income and certain extensions) are only available in some countries.

Market Subtleties & Demand

Google Trends is one of my absolute favorite free keyword research tools.

It allows you to see volume and trends for keyword concepts by location over time.

A common mistake in new accounts is running proven campaigns in new markets without adjusting for how that market searches.

For example, comparing [dui lawyer] and [dui attorney] over the past 12 months, we see that each term has pockets of influence:

In B2B, these subtleties are even more important because auction prices tend to be expensive.

Take this [marketing software] vs [marketing tools] example:

Launching campaigns in different countries requires more than putting winning keywords in google translate.

Far too often, the meaning isn’t quite right and you’ll waste important marketing dollars.

Creative Choices Matter

Just because an ad rocks one market doesn’t mean it will perform in all.

I’m a big believer in leading with questions and using language that addresses the user.

While that works well in the US, it should not be applied wholesale without testing against other creative strategies.

My favorite example of cultural differences is Japan vs US take on landing page layout.

In the US, we gravitate towards cleaner design and expect the landing page to guide us to the conversion action.

In Japan, it’s ok for a page to be busier (especially if it makes room for more trust symbols).

Blindly applying either experience to the other market would fail.

Take the time to do a/b tests on creative and research design trends in the market you want to enter.

Regulatory Considerations

Digital marketing would be a lot simpler if we all lived under a single set of laws.

While different markets will have their own eligibility criteria, they are united in privacy protections. GDPR/CPPA compliance is crucial if you want to avoid the crippling violation fees.

This is especially important as the cookie depreciates and we’re increasingly reliant on email collection.

Landing page design/theory requires privacy policies to be a major component (as opposed to a throwaway footer).

Final Takeaways

Launching campaigns in new markets requires research and adaptation.

Rather than launching all markets at the same time, use the ramp-up period to do the leg work for an upcoming geo.

This way you can invest the (at least) 2-4 weeks your new campaign deserves.

Be sure your legwork includes:

Keyword research to account for different search patterns and trends.

Legal and compliance considerations per geo.

Slicer Controlled Interactive Excel Charts

Slicers are a great tool for easily filtering PivotTables and Pivot Charts, but what if you want to use a Slicer to control a regular chart like this:

Note: This technique applies to Excel 2010 onwards.

Download the Workbook

Enter your email address below to download the sample workbook.

By submitting your email address you agree that we can email you our Excel newsletter.

Please enter a valid email address.

Download the Excel Workbook . Note: This is a .xlsx file please ensure your browser doesn’t change the file extension on download.

Creating Slicer Controlled Interactive Excel Charts

The process to set up Slicer controlled interactive Excel charts is easier than you might think, so don’t be put off by the number of steps involved.

Step 1: Get some data and give each column a named range. Here is mine:

Step 2: In a separate column create a list of your named ranges. I’ve formatted mine in an Excel Table in cells G5:G9 called TableRegions:

Step 3: Insert a PivotTable and use the table from step 2 as your source data. Put the ‘Region’ field in the rows area of the PivotTable (note: your PivotTable will list all regions when you first create it):

Tip 1: Remove the Grand Totals from the PivotTable. You don’t need them.

Tip 2: give the first cell in your PivotTable (below the header) a named range. Mine is cell I6 and it’s called ‘trigger’. This just makes it easier to reference later on.

Step 4: Insert a Slicer for the Region field:

Step 5: Create a Dynamic Named Range that picks up the region from the PivotTable that is selected in the Slicer, and returns the appropriate range from the Chart Source Data (as shown in step 1). Mine is called ‘chart_rng’ and you can see it in the Name Manager below:

If you’re familiar with dynamic named ranges then this one might look a little different to what you’re used to.  Let’s take a closer look at the formula:

=IF(

trigger="north",north

,

IF(trigger="south",south

,

IF(trigger="east",east

,

west

)))

Yes, we’re using a nested IF Formula to return a range. The IF function can return a range as opposed to just a single value like you’re probably used to.

Tip: Take particular note of the use of double quotes in the IF formula above.

IF the value in the cell called trigger is north, then return the named range ‘north’, else IF the value in the cell called trigger is south, then return the named range ‘south’, else IF the value in the cell called trigger is east, return the named range ‘east’, else return the named range ‘west’ since there’s no other ranges it could be.

A simpler approach would be to use the INDIRECT function like so:

=INDIRECT(trigger)

But beware of the volatility of the INDIRECT function.

Tip: in the ‘Series Values’ field make sure you keep the sheet name/workbook name part of the reference and only replace the cell references with your named range.

Step 7: Insert a dynamic chart title that changes based on the region selected in the Slicer

A big thank you to Bob Abrams for the IF function technique to select named ranges.

Welcome To New Drone City

A dispatch from the year 2066.

No one remembers life before the Hive. The swarm buzzes, and there is shadow; the swarm rests, and then there is light.

Other cities have days and nights but New York is divided into drone commutes. It used to be just Manhattan. I remember that, at least. But then we got Hive East in Brooklyn, Hive North in the Bronx, the Hive Prime in Queens (which everyone just called “the Queens Bee”), and about a decade ago, Staten Island got Hive West.

Between classes, I began my research. The archivists did what they could, mapping the past to the start of the swarm, but we cohabited in the city with the robots now, and at some point, AI took over the majority of seats on the New York Public Library Board of Trustees. They promised that our history wouldn’t change, but when I went back to the internet archive for news clippings from that day, there was nothing to be found. Now, that was thirty years ago, but I remember the librarian exodus, the mad rants streamed in six-second loops, rambling about knowledge and integrity and the Midwest. I think one mentioned silos, or maybe it was Faraday cages.

The Hive, Detail

Note how the drones rest in perfect spots inside the tower exterior.

That was the last bit of the before time. Now, we have the swarm, and it’s been very, very good to us. Sure, the stories closed, first the big boxes in the burbs, empty Targets and Walmarts in Yonkers and outside Newark. Then it was the big shops, mass-market fashion outlets and high-end staples. No one expected fashion to go indoors, but it did too, once a stream of delivery drones could carry every garment a person would ever want, right to their door, and then bring the panoramic mirrors, too. For the billionaires in penthouse suites, the ones we saw in their Oculus-cast VR-concerts, the drones were a stream of lights below, a moving robotic canvas for light projection. For us peasants below the swarm, it was a clattering buzzing ceiling, a bladed barrier to our ambitions, a robotic obstacle to the sky itself.

Detail Of The Hive

The idea is that drones will rest here, perpendicular to the ground, then slide out and fly away.

Yet the reality of the swarm didn’t sink in until the bodegas closed. Food delivery was so cheap, all delivery was so cheap, that it made economic sense for a robot to deliver a hostess fruit pie, a can of Code Red, and a couple of jazz cigarettes. That was the end, really, of pre-drone New York.

I searched for the dates in the archives, and found nothing. No sign of the lost livelihoods or even that the bodegas had all, within a few months, disappeared. Instead, there were clippings about the new Bodega app, and how it had a virtual cat that followed your fingers as you swiped through item selection.

This was the key, it seemed, to the past. If I found the good news, the press that heralded the event, it was still allowed in the Library’s AI-monitored archives, even if the bleak reality of the change was erased from the record. It took some digging, and then I found it: the birth certificate for New Drone City.

From designboom:

Their plan was for a human home, covered in flying machines. It was built, weirdly, as a way to get around zoning.

Zoning Around The Hive

This is not a bad vision of zoning for drones, actually.

The report continued:

I had no idea what to do with the information I just unearthed. After saving copies, and filing several to various darknet archives, I simply left the library and wandered into the autonomous streets. Cars parted as I walked across Washington Square park. Sometimes, not all the time but sometimes, the swarms would part, and from the right spot we could catch an uninterrupted view of One World Trade. I sat down at my favorite bench, and waited for a pause in the constant buzzing of drones. It never came.

Best City Builder Games For Iphone And Ipad In 2023

City builder games have been around for the longest time. Games of this nature give you plenty of freedom to let your creativity flow and exercise your resource management skills. Although most city builder games were available only on PC, there are some amazing city builder games for iPhone and iPad today.

1. SimCity BuildIt – Editor’s choice

SimCity BuildIt is one of the most comprehensive city-building games on iPhone. Of course, you’ve got the regular freedom to create and plan your city as the Mayor.

Whether you want to recreate Paris or an amalgamation of London and Venice, the choice is yours. Moreover, the game has an online component, making it more interesting than other city builders. In this game, you can connect with other players online to form Clubs.

Furthermore, you can also battle it against other Mayors in Club Wars. This mode is fun as you’ll have to defend your city from monsters and other disasters like storms. To progress further, you can research and build new technologies to get ahead of the competition.

The game has a steep learning curve, though. The first couple of hours can be frustrating due to the lack of resources.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Download

2. Megapolis – Realistic economies

Most city building games on iPhone don’t feature a proper economic system. Even if it has an economic system, the mechanics are usually offshoots of economic concepts. However, Megapolis changes that and adds plenty of depth to the gameplay.

Players can also enter the arms race in a bid for total control over a particular area. Basically, this is one of the best city builder games on iOS, thanks to the deep gameplay mechanics.

Since the game can be played online, some challenges require you to rely on other players for resource donations. This is especially evident at the game’s beginning when you’re lacking resources and have to complete big projects. The developers should make resource management slightly easier for newcomers.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Download

3. Pocket City – For beginners to the genre

Not every city building game for iOS needs to have extensive gameplay nuances to attract players. For casual players, or players new to the genre, Pocket City features accessible but enjoyable gameplay.

The game’s simple as well, with basic resource management and the opportunity to grow your city. The more quests you complete, the more experience points and money you gain. You can use these rewards to further your city’s development. Additionally, the game doesn’t feature microtransactions!

However, if you’re a more seasoned player of the genre, the simplistic gameplay might induce boredom.

Price: $2.99

Download

4. Forge of Empires – Highly scalable

The reason why Forge of Empires is one of the best city building games on iOS is simple. It provides extensive and scalable gameplay that will keep you occupied for hours.

The game starts you off in the Stone Age. As you develop your trading routes, diplomacy skills, and gather resources, you’ll be able to progress your empire to the modern age. You’ll also have to weigh all the possible outcomes before making a decision. Any wrong move could set your empire back by hundreds of years.

You can also expand your empire through diplomacy or military might. Whether you want to become a tyrannical yet strong-headed neighbor or a trading empire with connections all over, the choice is yours.

The in-game microtransactions are highly expensive, though.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $2.99)

Download

5. City Island 5 – Maximum content

City Island 5 combines elements of city building and exploration to provide a game that will surprise you. It has extensive content that will keep you engaged and playing for hours on end.

Unfortunately, the game’s latest updates have been causing the game to crash far too often. Hopefully, the developers will fix this on the next patch.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)

Download

6. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI – Extremely detailed

This wouldn’t be a list of the best city building games if I didn’t include Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. The Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise has been a staple of the genre for well over two decades. It’s a turn-based strategy game that combines elements of city building.

Moreover, the game supports cross-platform saves. This means that if you’re playing on your iPhone and save the game, you can boot up the game on your iPad and start from where you left off!

Unfortunately, the free version of the game is highly limiting, as you can only take 60 turns before having to buy the game.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $1.99)

Download

7. The Simpsons: Tapped Out – For casual players

The Simpsons is an iconic show and deserves a good game. With The Simpsons: Tapped Out, you get the most Simpsons-esque premise for a city building game on iOS.

Unfortunately for Homer, his antics have caused a meltdown and destroyed most of Springfield. Now, it’s up to you to rebuild Springfield in your image. It is based completely on your creativity and ideas. The game comes in the typical The Simpsons aesthetic as well, making for a nostalgic game.

The gameplay mechanics are simple enough and will be straightforward for most casual players. Moreover, since you’ve got a lot of freedom in the game, you can either rebuild or ruin Springfield on a whim!

The game suffers from glitches, though. Players have reported being logged out of the game randomly.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Download

8. The Battle of Polytopia – Minimalist and elegant

This is another turn-based strategy game that incorporates the city building elements. However, the visual style is the first aspect of this game that you’ll notice immediately.

Unlike other city builder games for iOS, The Battle of Polytopia has a minimalist, pixel art style that will catch your attention immediately. It’s easy on the eyes, and the gameplay also complements the aesthetics. The game’s premise is to build and expand your tribe while competing with other tribes online in a turn-based competition.

It’s got some surprisingly deep gameplay mechanics without making the gameplay inaccessible to newcomers. If you want to try out the games from this genre, this should be one of the first games.

However, the game can be too simplistic for veterans of the genre.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Download

9. TheoTown – Time to micromanage

If you’re someone who likes to control each aspect of their city builder games on iOS, this is the game for you. TheoTown is simplistic and elegant and features gameplay mechanics that will challenge you endlessly.

However, the challenge doesn’t come from overly difficult gameplay. In fact, it arises from the fact that every little detail needs to be managed. The type of structures you build, how you build or connect them – each aspect deeply impacts the overall gameplay.

Moreover, this game has a huge modding community that adds features and aspects to make the game more realistic.

Unfortunately, the game’s visuals aren’t all that good and could do with a rework.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $0.99)

Download

10. DomiNations – Detailed strategy elements

There’s a reason why DomiNations is one of the most popular city builder games on iOS. It makes you a veritable part of the virtual world history through gameplay.

Of course, you start small with a settlement, intending to convert this settlement into one of the greatest civilizations on the planet. However, it’s no easy task.

As you progress through the ages, you can enlist the help of historical figures like Leonardo Da Vinci or Catherine the Great. Moreover, you have the freedom to build World Wonder monuments too.

The online gameplay aspects are pretty good as well. You can form alliances to strengthen your nation’s foundations with other players online. You could also wage war against other players in a bid for supremacy.

My only gripe with the game is the extensive list of microtransactions. While they make the game easier, it seems more like a cash-grab opportunity than an extension of the game.

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $3.99)

How To Remap And Launch Any Program With Scroll Lock Key On Windows 11/10

Scroll Lock key is so infrequently used, it might not be on your keyboard at all especially if it’s a compact or laptop keyboard. However, you can easily remap the Scroll Lock to serve a more useful purpose, or configure it as a shortcut to launch a program. In this post, we will show you how to remap and launch any program with the Scroll Lock key on Windows 11/10.

The Scroll Lock key was on the very first IBM PC released in 1981. It was intended to toggle a feature for which you could use the arrow keys to move text inside a window instead of the cursor. As of present, the arrow keys function in most programs automatically based on context. As a result, the Scroll Lock feature is rarely used as it was originally intended.

However, Microsoft Excel still uses Scroll Lock for its original purpose. If Scroll Lock is disabled, you use the arrow keys to move the cursor between cells. When Scroll Lock is enabled, though, you can use the arrow keys to scroll the entire workbook page within the window.

With the PowerToys utility for Windows 10, you can easily remap the Scroll Lock key to another key or some system function. Remapping means when you press Scroll Lock, instead of activating Scroll Lock, the key will execute an entirely different action. This way, you can potentially use the Scroll Lock key for many different tasks.

Here are some suggested functions you could assign to the Scroll Lock key:

Mute/Unmute volume: If this function is configured, you can quickly control the audio volume from any source – handy if you need to silence your computer to take a call.

Play/Pause media: If this function is configured, you can just tap Scroll Lock to pause a song and then tap it again to resume play.

Sleep: If this function is configured, you can just tap the Scroll Lock key once and your device will be put into Sleep mode.

Caps Lock: You might want to configure this function if you’re always hitting Caps Lock accidentally. You can assign it to the Scroll Lock key instead. You should also disable the Caps Lock key by assigning it another function.

Browser refresh: If this function is configured, tapping Scroll Lock key once will quickly reload the current web page.

Remap and launch any program with Scroll Lock key

We will be breaking this into two subcategories as follows;

How to remap the Scroll Lock key

How to launch a program with the Scroll Lock key

Let’s take a look at the process involved in both tasks.

1] How to remap the Scroll Lock key

To remap the desired function to the Scroll Lock key, do the following:

First, you need to download and install the PowerToys utility if you haven’t already.

After the installation, launch the utility.

Select Keyboard Manager in the left pane.

On the left, you have to define the key you’re remapping.

In this example, we select Volume Mute.

Scroll Lock should be successfully remapped!

2] How to launch a program with the Scroll Lock key

Scroll Lock can be configured as a hotkey combination to launch any program you want on Windows 10.

To launch a program with the Scroll Lock key, do the following:

First, create a Desktop shortcut to the program you want to run.

Now, tap the Scroll Lock key.

Windows will automatically insert Ctrl+Alt+Scroll Lock in the field.

From now on, whenever you press the Ctrl+Alt+Scroll Lock key combo, the program represented by that shortcut will launch.

Tip: Some users keep hotkey-enabled app shortcuts in a special folder so that they don’t delete the shortcut accidentally.

And this wraps up our subject on how to remap and launch any program with Scroll Lock key on Windows 11/10!
