If your mouse settings keep resetting in Windows 10, we have prepared all you need to know. A good wired mouse, a wireless mouse, or even a touchpad can be enough to make your life easier. But what do you do when your mouse is not correctly set up?
Many users report that they changed the mouse settings to fit their needs, and after a PC restart or a Windows 10 update, those settings reverted.
This is a common issue, well-known by Microsoft, and it’s addressed in every new update. When the problem doesn’t solve by itself through an update, you’ll have to do it yourself. Why do mouse settings keep resetting on Windows 10?
We gather that a few elements can trigger the problem from users who have registered this problem. Here are some that you should take note of:
Outdated drivers – Drivers are essential to linking hardware with software, but when outdated, you may expect some issues.
Outdated OS – If the Windows on your PC is old, it may result in conflict with other drivers and OS modules, which might result in the mouse settings being reset again.
While this is not a comprehensive list, it makes up the built of causes. However, the solutions we suggest will help if the mouse settings reset by themselves on Windows 10, if they won’t save, or if Windows 10 mouse settings reset on every login.
Additionally, note that the previously detailed solutions also work if you encounter the following errors:
Mouse pointer speed keeps resetting in Windows 10 – Many users describe how mouse options reset every time they restart or turn off the PC. In such a case, you’re entitled to suspect a driver issue or hardware conflict.
Mouse DPI keeps resetting – Mouse DPI continuously resetting is also a common bug. If you have Synaptics drivers, changing their settings in the registry often does wonders. What can I do if mouse settings keep resetting on Windows 10? 1.
In many instances, the mouse drivers could be partially installed or defective. You can run Windows’ troubleshooter to solve these kinds of problems.2. Update the mouse drivers
If that does not work, we recommend trying Outbyte Driver Updater, which will scan your PC and update any missing or outdated drivers.
Update your device drivers with ease and try Outbyte Driver Updater for the newest versions.

If you have Synaptics drivers, this solution will work for you, as it worked for many users.
Modifying registry keys can be a bit complicated and cause problems, so be sure to change the keys as stated in the guide.4. Perform a clean boot
Windows uses only a minimum number of drivers and startup programs in the Clean Boot state. Doing this lets you identify if any third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
We hope that these solutions worked for you. Additionally, you can try some quick common fixes like checking the mouse hardware and changing the USB connection port.
Installing the latest updates for Windows 10 could help you out this time too.

One lesser-known addition in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is the network reset feature. This feature performs a clean sweep of your network drivers and settings so you can start anew. This is particularly handy if you’re having network issues and nothing you’ve tried seems to fix the problem. If you’re on Windows 10 Anniversary edition and struggling to get a connection, a network reset may just be what you need to get back online. What Is Network Reset?
Before we talk about how to activate a network reset, let’s take a look at what it does. A network reset isn’t as simple as stopping and restarting your network drivers or wiping your network details. In some ways a network reset can be considered the “hard reset” solution for solving a network issue.
When a network reset is activated, it will clean your computer of all network drivers. Once all drivers are cleaned and the PC has been restarted, all of your network settings will be set at their defaults. Windows will then try to download and install drivers for your network hardware again.
This means that your current method of getting onto the Internet will lose the ability to connect. As such, it’s a good idea to have drivers on-hand for your WiFi adapter before performing this method, just in case Windows doesn’t download the drivers for you. Also, if you use a VPN, the network reset will cause havoc with it. As such, it’s best to prepare for a full reinstall of any VPNs you use, so you can recover after the network reset has taken place. When Should I Use It?
As covered, the network reset will perform a clean sweep of all your network drivers and settings. This means it should not be the first port of call when you have network connectivity issues; in fact, it should be your last!
Before you wipe your computer’s network settings, it’s worth trying every method available to fix your network connection. We wrote about a few tricks you can try, so give those a try before performing a reset. On the other hand, if you’ve tried everything in the book and nothing seems to work, then go ahead and try the reset.Triggering the Reset
After the restart, your PC will have its network drivers and settings reset. Allow Windows to reinstall drivers or install them manually if you like. Once you’re set back up, try to connect again and see if the reset helped fix your issues.Back to Basics
If you’re having network issues with Windows 10 and nothing seems to fix it, a network reset might help. While it should only be used as a last resort, starting over on a blank slate may just be what your computer needs.
Have you been having network issues recently? Did this help? Let us know below!

If you are using a Microsoft account on Windows 10 there’s a good chance you have Microsoft sync enabled. This feature automatically syncs your settings to any device you log into using your account, unfortunately, this doesn’t always have the best outcome especially if you are logging into systems with different screen configurations. If your account already has linked data you want to remove, this guide will show you how to get rid of it.
How to Stop Twitter Spamming You With Emails.
For a lot of people, Microsoft’s Account Sync feature is a pretty handy tool to have enabled. It allows Windows to quickly configure new PCs with your preferred settings and configurations. Things like your wallpapers, themes, language settings and a lot of other preferences.
You can find a full list of everything that is synced between your Microsoft account and your PC here.
As great as the feature is, it does have a few shortcomings which can be quite annoying. For example, if you have a desktop setup with multiple screens and sign into your laptop with the same Microsoft account, Windows will automatically adjust your wallpaper and theme settings to mimic your desktop, completely ruining your current laptop settings. (Unless of course, you have manually opted out of this sync aspect).
Although it’s easy enough to disable the feature on new setups, it’s also important to know how to clear your current sync settings so you can give yourself a fresh start if needed. So follow along as we show you how to clear your Microsoft Account to Windows 10 Sync Settings.
Note: If you are using a local account, you won’t have the ability to use any of these features. They will be greyed out in the options until you migrate your local account to your Microsoft account. How to Disable Microsoft Account Sync on Windows 10. How Do You Clear Your Microsoft Account Sync Settings on Windows 10?
To clear any data and settings that have already been synced between your devices, you will first have to make sure you have disabled sync on all of your devices. To do this follow the steps shown above in the How to Disable Microsoft Account Sync section. Once you have done this, the next step is to visit the OneDrive personal settings page.
OneDrive Personal Settings Website.
After you have confirmed the deletion of data, make sure you spend a moment to read the information before proceeding.
Even if you don’t have Onedrive installed on your system, the data is still synced to OneDrive. This is because Outlook, Hotmail, and Live are all linked to OneDrive, so if you have an account for either of these services, you automatically have basic OneDrive access.
