But no one likes it when Touch ID problems arise. So if your experience has been a little flaky, we’ll take you through the steps to fix Touch ID problems on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Once you follow these solutions, you can again get back to using Touch ID for unlocking your device, authenticating Apple Pay, downloading apps, getting inside app locks, confirming password autofill, and more.
Potential causes for Touch ID issues
Touch ID will stop working when your finger is wet or dirty. This may happen while exercising, cooking, changing your oil, doing outside work, and other similar activities. Likewise, cuts, lotions, oils, sweat, and even dry skin can affect the accuracy of reading your fingerprint. So before you take any drastic measures, you should check for these issues.
When you’re sure that none of these reasons are affecting your Touch ID accuracy, then you probably have a problem, so continue reading to get to the bottom of things once and for all. But first, some basics.
Touch ID and Apple Pay

On Mac, Touch ID won’t work the first time you restart, log in after turning on the computer, or log out as a user. 3. Restart your device

4. Make sure Touch ID is allowed to perform certain tasks

5. Recalibrate the Touch ID sensor
Sometimes the best thing to do is start all over and recalibrate the sensor. To do that, you’ll need to follow these simple steps:
On iPhone and iPad
Open the Settings app and go to Touch ID & Passcode. Here, enter your device password to get inside.
Tap the added fingerprint and hit Delete Fingerprint. You may delete all added fingerprints.
Next, tap Add a Fingerprint to begin re-scanning and re-adding your fingerprints. Place your finger on the Touch ID sensor in various ways – right-side-up, up-side-down, and sideways until the fingerprint icon becomes fully colored. When asked to adjust your grip, scan the edges of that finger until the fingerprint icon becomes fully colored. Note: Scan the front, the back, and the sides of that finger in ways you think you will unlock your device in situations where your grip isn’t the best.
Tap Continue when the process is complete to save your fingerprint.
Lock your device and verify that the fingerprint works. If it does, congratulations!
On MacSelect Touch ID & Password from the left sidebar.
Take the pointer over an added fingerprint and hit the tiny cross (x) button that appears.
Once that’s done, lock your Mac and try to unlock it with your Touch ID. It should work flawlessly.
6. Register a different finger

Add iOS keyboardYou will lose Apple’s dictation feature if you add just a third-party keyboard (like SwiftKey) and remove the built-in Apple keyboard. To see the Enable Dictation option in iPhone keyboard settings, do the following:
Choose a keyboard under Suggested Keyboards or Other iPhone Keyboards.
Now go back and you should see the Enable Dictation option. If not, restart your iPhone.
Note: Some third-party keyboard (like SwiftKey) may also offer their own dictation feature. You can use that while using the third-party keyboard.
Unrestrict Siri & DictationFollow these steps to ensure dictation is not restricted:
Open iPhone or iPad Settings and tap Screen Time.
If it says, Turn On Screen Time, you can skip all the steps below. Else, tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
If Content & Privacy Restrictions is disabled, you can skip the steps below. If it’s enabled, tap Allowed Apps.
Under Allowed Apps, make sure Siri & Dictation is enabled.
You should see the Enable Dictation option after adding the iOS keyboard and ensuring dictation isn’t restricted.
Try using dictation without AirPods or earphones
At times, you may not be able to use dictation at all, or it may function poorly with wired or wireless earphones. If it isn’t working at all, make sure your iPhone isn’t stuck in headphone mode.
Remove iOS keyboard and add it again
Here’s how you can remove the iPhone keyboard and re-add it to ensure dictation works:
Tap Add New Keyboard and select your desired iPhone keyboard. Now, open Notes or a similar app and use dictation. It should work well.
Turn off Siri and turn it back on
Siri and dictation are related. So, if dictation isn’t working after following the above solutions, turn Siri off and on.

Turn off Voice Control
Do you see “Keyboard Dictation is disabled when Voice Control is on” in the dictation preferences screen on Mac?

Tip: Dictation can listen to you continuously for about 30 to 40 seconds. After that, you must pause and let it process and type what you said before speaking again.

Select the right microphone for dictation
While you’re on the dictation preferences screen, make sure the correct microphone is selected. Select Automatic if you often use AirPods or other audio devices with your Mac.

The Swatches panel in Photoshop CC 2023 has been greatly improved with a new and easy way to add colors to your document. We can now drag and drop colors from the Swatches panel directly onto a layer’s contents. And we can even add the color as a Solid Color fill layer or as a Color Overlay layer effect, again just by dragging and dropping it!
In this tutorial, we’ll look at the changes Adobe made to the Swatches panel in CC 2023, including the new default swatch sets and how to load legacy swatches from previous versions of Photoshop. And then I’ll show you all the ways to drag and drop colors into your document, including a few new keyboard tricks!
To follow along, you’ll need Photoshop 2023 or newer. If you’re already using Photoshop CC, make sure that your copy is up to date.
Let’s get started!
The document setupFor this tutorial, I’ve created a simple document with a couple of flower shapes and some text in front of a white background. The shapes and the text are currently filled with black, but I’ll be adding color to them as we go along:

In the Layers panel, we see how my document is set up. The Background layer on the bottom is filled with white. And above the Background layer are the two flower shapes. But the difference between them is that the flower on the left (on the “Flower pixels” layer) is a pixel layer, while the flower on the right (on the “Flower shape” layer) is a shape layer. And finally, the word “swatches” is on a type layer at the top.
In other words, we have four different kinds of layers in this document (a Background layer, a pixel layer, a shape layer, and a type layer). And as we’ll see, some layers behave differently than others when we drag and drop colors onto them from the Swatches panel:

A closer look at the Swatches panel in Photoshop CC 2023But before we start dragging and dropping colors, let’s look at how the Swatches panel itself has changed in Photoshop CC 2023.

How to drag and drop colors from the Swatches panelIn Photoshop CC 2023, the easiest way to add colors from the Swatches panel is to simply drag and drop the color directly onto a layer’s contents. There’s no need to select the layer in the Layers panel first. As long as you drop the color onto the layer’s contents, Photoshop will automatically select the layer for you.
But exactly how the color is applied depends on which kind of layer it is. Let’s start with the Background layer.
Dragging color swatches onto the Background layerIn my case, my Background layer is filled with white, so I’ll drag and drop a swatch onto any area of white:

Release your mouse button to apply the color to the background:

The color is applied as a Solid Color fill layerBut in the Layers panel, notice that the Background layer is not actually filled with the new color. Instead, the color is added as a Solid Color fill layer above the Background layer:

Dragging color swatches onto pixel layersSo color swatches are applied to Background layers as Solid Color fill layers. And the same is true when dragging and dropping colors onto normal pixel layers, but with one important difference.
In my case, I’ll drop the color onto the flower on the left, which is on a pixel layer:

Release your mouse button to apply the color to the layer:

The color is applied as a clipped fill layerIn the Layers panel, we again see that the color was added as a Solid Color fill layer above the pixel layer. But this time, the fill layer is clipped to the pixel layer below it.
Because the fill layer is clipped to the pixel layer using a clipping mask, the new color is affecting only that one layer. The Background layer is not affected:

Dragging color swatches onto shape layers and type layersWhile Photoshop CC 2023 applies color swatches to Background layers and pixel layers as separate fill layers, that’s not the case when we drag and drop swatches onto shape layers or type layers. And since shape and type layers both behave the same way, we’ll look at them together.
I’ll drag and drop a color from the Swatches panel onto the flower on the right, which is on a shape layer:

And then I’ll drag and drop a different color onto the text:

The color is applied directly to shapes and textNotice that this time in the Layers panel, a Solid Color fill layer does not appear above either the shape layer or the type layer. Instead, the color swatches were applied directly to the shape and to the text. The reason is that shape layers and type layers both support color fills, while Background layers and pixel layers do not.

The new Swatches panel keyboard tricks in Photoshop CC 2023So far, we’ve seen the default ways that Photoshop applies colors to different kinds of layers when we drag and drop swatches from the Swatches panel. Colors are applied to Background layers as Solid Color fill layers. They’re applied to pixel layers as fill layers that are clipped to the pixel layer below them. And when we drag and drop a color onto a shape or type layer, the new color is applied directly to the layer itself.
But the Swatches panel in Photoshop CC 2023 also includes a few keyboard shortcuts that let you change the way colors are applied. So let’s finish this tutorial with a quick look at how to use them.
How to apply swatches to shapes or text as fill layersTo apply a color swatch to a shape or type layer as a Solid Color fill layer, press and hold the Ctrl (Win) / Command (Mac) key on your keyboard as you drag and drop the color from the Swatches panel onto the layer’s contents.
Here I’m holding Ctrl (Win) / Command (Mac) as I drag a swatch onto the shape layer:

And this time, the original color of the shape remains intact while the new color appears as a clipped Solid Color fill layer above it. Again, this same trick also works with type layers:
The swatch is added to the shape as a clipped fill layer.
How to apply colors as non-clipped fill layersTo apply a color swatch above a pixel, shape or type layer as a Solid Color fill layer that is not clipped to the layer below it, hold Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) as you drag the color onto the layer’s contents.
Here I’m holding Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) as I drag a swatch onto the text:

Photoshop adds the color as a Solid Color fill layer above the type layer. But because the fill layer is not clipped to the type layer, it’s blocking all of the layers below it from view. This is probably not a trick you’ll use very often, but it’s there if you need it:

And now with the fill layer clipped to the type layer, the new color is applied only to the text:

How to apply color swatches as Color Overlay layer effectsAnd finally, to apply a color swatch to a pixel, shape or type layer as a Color Overlay layer effect, hold Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Command+Option (Mac) as you drag and drop the color.
Here I’m holding Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Command+Option (Mac) as I drag a color onto the pixel layer’s contents:

The pixel layer updates with the new color.
And in the Layers panel, the new color appears as a Color Overlay layer effect below the layer. The only layer that this trick will not work with is the Background layer, since Background layers do not support layer effects:
The color swatch is added as a Color Overlay effect.

Weebly upgraded the platform to fourth generation and named it as Weebly 4 on September 2023. One of the features of Weebly 4 is flexible drag and drop header. We have published a trick on how to drag and drop elements in header area and Weebly made this as a default feature now.
Can Everyone Use Flexible Header?The good news is the feature is available for all Weebly plan users including free users. But the bad news is that flexible header is available only on default responsive Weebly themes and can’t be used in the following themes:
If you have modified and saved the theme as custom theme.
You are using a theme bought from third party vendor.
You are using one of the old non-responsive Weebly themes.
In a nutshell Weebly drives the platform to make use of default themes and developers can use App Center to sell items (although themes are not sold as of now this article is written). With the introduction of “Section” element which can also only be used on default responsive themes, external third party developers will have tough time to sell their themes without default functions.

Dragging and dropping the pointer can adjust height of the header area. This eliminates the need of using different header types for different pages as you can drag and adjust the height as per your need on individual pages. Apply the header changes to all the pages or only to the selected pages on your site.
Edit the background image or select from one of the available layouts.

How to Use Flexible Drag and Drop Header in Weebly?As mentioned above, flexible header is available only for default responsive Weebly themes. Hence, if you are using modified custom theme change to one of the latest theme. Note you will loose all custom changes when changing to the default theme. The best way is to create a new site and test whether it is useful for your need.
Once you are in the site editor check the page has default image. Or else go to “Pages” menu and choose the header type as “Header” to enable the header section on your page. Now you can drag and drop any elements on the header area similar to the content area.

Edit BackgroundFree and started plan users can change the background of the header with image and color options. While Pro, Business and Performance plan users can add videos to the header background.

Edit the background image with Weebly image editor and adjust the blur, darkness and apply filters.
Replace the image with your own custom image.
Replace the image from one of the free Weebly header images.
Enable parallax or reveal scrolling effects.
Align the content on the header area to top, middle or bottom.
2. Using Background ColorBackground color has all options similar to images except that you can’t enable parallax scrolling effect.
3. Video BackgroundIf you purchased Pro, Business or Performance plan then you can add video to the header background.
Replace Header LayoutChoose one of the available layouts and customize again.
