Suggested December 2023 How To Enable Or Disable System Print Dialog In Chrome Browser

If the Print Dialog box is not appearing, then in this post we will show you how to print using System Dialog in the Chrome browser on Windows 11/10. For some, this box is an irritant. Understandably, Not only does it pop up whenever you wish to do a simple print job, but it also tempts users to use unwanted printer settings that may not be suitable for subsequent print jobs.

The best way to avoid Chrome’s print dialog box is to connect a single printer to your computer. However, if you have multiple printers connected to your computer, it always shows you the dialog box.

Disable System Print Dialog in Chrome 1] Disable print preview in the shortcut target

To turn off the print dialog box in Chrome, first find the Google Chrome shortcut, most likely on your desktop. If you can’t find it, press the Windows key and search for Chrome.

–disable-print-preview

2] How to bypass Chrome’s Print dialog box

Another command-line switch to use for disabling Chrome’s print dialog is -kiosk-printing. With this method, the system skips Windows print preview, as well as that of Chrome. It, therefore, prints quickly.

Add the following command-line switch to the end of the Target field:

-kiosk-printing

After adding this switch to the Target field, whenever you want to print out a webpage off Chrome, the print dialog box shows up briefly and then closes immediately.

Enable the System Print Dialog box in Chrome 1] Undo the shortcut Target modifications

The system print dialog box is enabled on Chrome by default. So, you don’t need to do anything to enable it, other than undoing the actions described in the previous section about disabling the modifications.

Whenever you try to print a webpage off Chrome, either with the CTRL +P hotkey or via the three dots at the top right-hand corner, the print dialog box shows up.

I can show you how to bring up the print settings even if you are not printing anything. The CTRL + SHIFT + P key combination brings up the system print dialog box, from which you can configure your default print settings and print out the page you are viewing.

2] Create a new shortcut

You can keep your modifications to the system print dialog box and still have it enabled whenever you want. Read on as I explain this.

Navigate to your preferred location and press the CTRL + V key combination to paste it there. You can also get the shortcut by searching for Chrome in the Start menu and opening the file location, as described earlier in this guide.

Move your cursor to the end of the text in this field and delete everything after chrome.exe” (don’t delete the quotes (“)).

What happens now is that the system print dialog box is left enabled when you launch the Chrome browser from the new shortcut. However, if you launch the browser from the shortcut with the modified Target, you open an instance of Chrome with the system print dialog box disabled.

3] Enable the System Print Dialog box in Chrome using Registry Editor

Using a Registry tweak to enable system print dialog for the Chrome browser is more effective than creating and using a shortcut. Once the required Registry tweak is applied, the print preview feature of the Chrome browser is disabled completely. Neither the Ctrl+P hotkey nor the Print… option present in Customize and control Google Chrome setting will work to open the print preview feature of Google Chrome. Instead, the system print dialog is opened directly. The changes are applied for incognito mode too.

You can also disable the system print dialog for the Chrome browser and re-enable the print preview feature of Google Chrome anytime you need. But, before trying this Registry tweak, we recommend you to take backup of Windows Registry. Once done, follow these steps:

Open Registry Editor window

Access the Google Registry key

Create a Chrome key

Create DisablePrintPreview DWORD value

Set Value data of DisablePrintPreview to 1

Press the OK button

Restart the Google Chrome browser.

Below is a detailed explanation of these steps.

In the very first step, open the Registry Editor window on your Windows 11/10 computer. Just type regedit in the Search box and use the Enter key or open the Registry Editor window using any other way you want.

After opening the Registry Editor, access a Google name Registry key. Here is the path to access it:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarePoliciesGoogle

If for some reason, this Google key is not present, then first create a new Registry key, and name it Google. Under the Google key, create a new key, and name it Chrome (as visible in the image added above).

Finally, restart the Chrome browser if you have opened it. Now whenever you will try to take a print of a webpage, the system print dialog will open.

To enable the print preview feature of Google Chrome again, simply follow the above steps, and either delete the Chrome key or the Google key. Restart your Google Chrome browser to successfully apply the changes.

How do I turn off the Print Dialog in Chrome?

If you are using Windows 11/10 computer, then you can turn off the print dialog box or print preview feature of the Chrome browser using any of these two options:

Using the Google Chrome shortcut icon

Using Registry Editor.

While the first option works only when you open the Chrome browser using its shortcut icon, the second option works no matter whether you open Google Chrome from the taskbar, Start menu, or using the shortcut icon.

Both the options with step-by-step instructions are covered in this post above. After using any of these options, when you will use the print command for a webpage in Google Chrome, the system print dialog will open directly and you won’t see the print dialog box of Google Chrome at all.

How To Enable Or Disable Projecting To This Pc In Windows 11

This post explains how to enable or disable projecting to this PC in Windows 11. ‘Projecting to this PC’ is a Windows feature that uses wireless technology to project the content of other devices to your PC screen and allows you to control the connected device using your mouse or keyboard. You can use this feature to project the screen of a Windows Phone, Android Phone, or another Windows PC over the same wireless network.

Projecting to this PC uses the Connect app for screen mirroring. This app is no longer available in Windows, but the functionality can still be accessed via Wireless Display, which can be installed as an ‘optional feature’ on Windows 11. In addition to this, it requires hardware support for the Miracast app. We have previously explained how you can use Projecting to this PC on Windows 11. In this post, we are going to show you how to enable this feature if you don’t have it enabled by default, and also how to disable this feature.

How to Enable or Disable Projecting to this PC in Windows 11

We will show you how to enable or disable Projecting to this PC in Windows 11 using the following methods:

Using Windows Settings

Using Registry Editor

Using Group Policy Editor

Let us see these in detail.

1] Using Windows Settings

Scroll down to the ‘Projecting to this PC‘ option under System settings.

In the topmost dropdown, select ‘Available everywhere on secure networks‘ or ‘Available everywhere‘ to enable the setting.

To disable the setting, select ‘Always Off‘ in the same dropdown.

2] Using Registry Editor

Tip: Take a backup of your Windows Registry to restore the system to its normal state in case something goes wrong.

Press the Win + R key combination.

Type regedit in the Run dialogue box and press the Enter key.

Change the Value Data from 0 to 1.

Reboot your PC.

This will enable the ‘Projecting to this PC’ setting. To disable the setting, change the value data of the ‘AllowProjectionToPC’ key to 0.

3] Using Group Policy Editor

The Group Policy Editor is only part of the Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. If you have Windows Home, you may use this workaround to enable the missing Local Group Policy Editor.

Use the following steps to enable Projecting to this PC using the Group Policy Editor:

Press the Win + R key combination.

Type chúng tôi in the Run dialogue box and press the Enter key.

In the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following path: Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsConnect

This will enable Projecting to this PC on your Windows 11 PC. If the policy setting doesn’t work, restart your PC or force an update to the configured policy by typing the following command in the elevated Command Prompt:

gpupdate /force

To disable the setting, navigate to the same path in the Local Group Policy Editor and choose Enabled.

This winds up how to enable and disable Project to this PC in Windows 11. Hope you find this useful.

A lot of users have been enquiring on multiple forums about the Tablet mode in Windows 11.

Windows 11 does support the Tablet mode, but note that it doesn’t allow users to manually enable/disable it.

Also, the mode works just as fine on both tablets and 2-in-1 laptops.

We have been using the Tablet mode on previous iterations from Microsoft, but when it came to Windows 11, there was a lot of uncertainty and a lack of information around it.

So, we decided to dedicate an article on Tablet mode in Windows 11 and all the relevant information around it.

You can use this mode on a 2-in-1 laptop or a Windows 11 compatible tablet. It’s a major upgrade from Windows 10, offering a relatively simpler and quicker interface, along with the ability to automatically switch modes.

However, a lot of users were facing trouble while enabling the Tablet mode in Windows 11 or getting it disabled afterward.

With the OS still in the early phase and some major changes in the mode, confusion around it was expected. Go through the following sections to know all there is about tablet mode.

How to turn on/off the Tablet mode in Windows 11?

While there was a built-in option to enable the Tablet mode in Windows 10, it’s missing from the latest iteration. However, it in no way means that Microsoft has discontinued the feature in Windows 11.

The tablet mode still works in Windows 11. The only change is that the OS automatically detects whether a touch-enabled display is available and the right settings in order.

1. Turn on your device that you want to use in Tablet mode.

2. For 2-in-1 laptops, while the touch-screen feature works just fine under normal use, rotating the screen all the way back enables the Tablet mode.

3. For tablets with attached keyboards, the mode will kick in as soon the keyboard is detached.

4. To check whether tablet mode is enabled, you need to look at the Taskbar icons. As soon as they space out a little, you will know that Windows has switched modes.

5. If you want to disable tablet mode, you need to revert the changes you just made.

6. For 2-in-1 laptops, just rotate the screen back to its original or the optimal position, and the tablet mode will be disabled.

Expert tip:

Gone are the days when you had to manually enable the Tablet mode, with the latest iteration automatically switching between the two. Windows 11 has, no doubt, revolutionized the way you use the device.

In case you are stuck on tablet mode and can’t disable it, an error reported by several users, here’s our dedicated guide that will list out the methods to resolve the stuck on Tablet mode issue.

Can I force Tablet mode in Windows 11?

Detaching the keyboard or rotating the screen away from the keyboard will force the Tablet mode to kick in. Presently, these are the only ways you can enable the mode in Windows 11.

In case there are some changes in the subsequent updates, we will update the article. Bookmark the webpage to quickly find it the next time.

That’s all there’s to Tablet mode in Windows 11. You will get a lot more acquainted and accustomed after using it for a while.

If you often switched to the Tablet mode in Windows 10, we do recommend trying it on the latest OS.

What are the new features in Tablet Mode?

There aren’t a lot of new features introduced in the Windows 11 Tablet mode. But, with the complete revamp of the UI, it does look refreshing.

The new Start menu works seamlessly when in Tablet mode. The keys on the on-screen virtual keyboard are optimally placed to enable easy touch, thereby ensuring a user-friendly experience.

The snap layout feature in Windows 11, available on both normal mode and Tablet mode, helps you work on multiple apps at once by placing them suitably across the screen.

Also, the Windows 11 gestures that you used on the touchpad work just the same in this mode. Tap on the screen or drag your finger across it, as required, for the desired result.

In case you are facing issues with Tablet mode on the latest iteration, roll back to Windows 10. You should then wait for the feature to be properly integrated and any known bugs eliminated before making the upgrade all over again.

How To Enable Xmp In Bios

XMP is a feature for anyone looking to gain a slight performance edge for free. RAM speeds have a noticeable FPS increase in many games, especially when it comes to eliminating game stuttering and freezing.

Anyone with an INTEL CPU and compatible motherboard can check if the feature is supported for their specific setup. The same applies to any AMD motherboards and the DOCP RAM setting.

How to Check if XMP Is Already Enabled?

There are many ways to check if this function is enabled, you can do so from the BIOS, third-party software, or through the task manager. If you are unsure how to, we have a separate detailed guide on how to check if this function is enabled.

How to Enable XMP in My BIOS?

You can reach the XMP settings only via the BIOS interface that comes with your motherboard. XMP settings come with various profiles, each offering varying boost options and modes.

The exact steps might slightly vary, depending on the motherboard you have. Here is the most common way to enable XMP through your motherboards BIOS settings:

How to Enable DOCP in BIOS?

The way to enable DOCP for non-Intel CPUs is quite similar on AMD’s motherboards. Again, depending on your specific motherboard manufacturer and BIOS version, the steps could vary slightly or the options might use different names.

Now comes the moment of truth: If you have done everything correctly up to this point, congratulations; you just gained free performance with no downsides.

How to Check RAM Speed After XMP Is Enabled?

After you have enabled the XMP mode, it’s vital also to double-check if the actual RAM speeds have increased. The best way to do so is to download the popular utility software called CPU-Z.

It gives users a clear overview of all CPU and RAM-related data. Navigate to the SPD tab and look for the SPD Ext box to find the exact version of the XMP, and the RAM speed will be shown under the Max Bandwidth option.

However, to check your current actual RAM speeds in real-time, you can make use of the task manager. Here’re the steps you need to follow:

FAQ Can I Enable XMP on DDR5 Ram?

XMP is entirely on all DDR5 memory kits and compatible motherboards. Most of the DDR5 memory kits are specially designed for best-in-class speeds and thus often come factory set with the XMP 3.0 profile.

Is Ram Overclocking Safe?

Overclocking of RAM compared to GPU or CPU speeds is much safer and easy to get right. You will know beforehand the maximum potential of your RAM speeds to run in a stable manner, so you won’t need to experiment with different overclocks.

Better yet, the XMP overclocking technology works automatically in real-time, giving you the best possible RAM speeds. So once the setting is enabled, you don’t need to worry if your RAM is running at the most optimal settings.

How to Know My Maximum RAM Speed?

The only way to check this is to go to your RAM manufactures webpage or refer to the packaging of your RAM. You will find the exact speed (from 1000 – 6000 MHz) and type of Memory (DDR3, DDR4, or DDR5) you have on your current RAM sticks.

How Will XMP Affect My Gaming FPS?

Having XMP enabled will certainly impact your in-game FPS. The most noticeable difference will be that your games overall min-FPS and average FPS will go up. However, the biggest determinant of your in-game FPS will be your GPU and CPU, followed by your RAM.
