If you have deleted all the cache files from your PC and wondering why it didn’t make any difference to the storage space, you probably forgot to empty the Recycle bin. Every time we delete any file or folder from our PC, it goes to the Recycle bin and you can restore those files whenever you want.

We often forget about emptying the Recycle bin until it starts occupying too much space, however, there are a few tips that you can use to empty the recycle bin automatically while you sign out on Windows 11/10. This can be especially useful if you tend to delete a lot of files.

How to empty Recycle Bin automatically while signing out

There are two different methods to empty the Recycle Bin automatically while you are signing out for Windows 11/10. Remember that you need to be logged into your PC as the administrator to use these methods.

1] Use a Bat file to empty Recycle Bin while signing out

You can empty the recycle bin automatically by creating a Powershell script in text document format. This script will delete all the items from your recycle bin when you turn off your PC.

It will create a text document file on your desktop. Open it and copy-paste the given code there.

PowerShell.exe -NoProfile -Command Clear-RecycleBin -Confirm:$false

Then save your text file with an extension of .bat, for example, if you are saving it as an empty recycle bin, add .bat after the file name.

Hit Enter and it will be saved as a Windows Batch File on your Desktop.

To open the Run the dialogue box by pressing Windows Key and R hotkey together.

Type chúng tôi and hit OK.

Once Group Policy Editor is open, go to:

Browse and add the Windows Batch File we created in the above method.

Now, this script is set to run automatically whenever you shut down your PC. Thus, your recycle bin will automatically be emptied when you shut down your PC.

I have tried these methods on my Windows 10 PC and it might not work on the earlier versions of Windows.

Since this method will automatically delete all your files and folders from Recycle bin, make sure you have crossed checked the files in the bin.

3] Storage Sense

The third method is to do it via Storage Sense. You can automatically delete files from the Recycle Bin via Storage Sense.

Windows 11

Follow these steps:

Open Settings by Win + I or from the Start Menu.

Enable and then select Storage Sense.

You will see Delete files in my recycle bin if they have been there for over

Select the lifespan of your bin files, after which they ought to be deleted by Storage Sense. The options are:

1 day

14 days

30 days

60 days.

Windows 10

Here you choose and set the time span of the files you want to delete, it could be every day, every week, or month. Or you can set it to delete when the disk running low in space.

Similarly, you can adjust the settings to delete the temporary files on your PC.

If you don’t want the files to be deleted automatically or want to delete them manually, make sure you set the settings to Never.

How to remove Recycle Bin icon from Desktop Does empty Recycle Bin delete files forever?

Yes, when you empty your recycle bin, the files and folders are not deleted forever. You may need to use a data eraser software to delete the files from the hard disk. To recover files deleted from the Recycle Bin, you need to use a data recovery software – You can use it to restore your data.

Windows 11/10 Upgrade Stuck At Blank Screen With Only Recycle Bin & Taskbar

Windows 10 Updates or Windows 11 Updates have their own set of bad luck. It has caused issues on a lot of Windows PC to a measure which we haven’t seen before. One such issue is about keyboard layout, a blank screen with just Recycle Bin/Taskbar. It seems that the culprit Avast Antivirus and Microsoft have officially acknowledged it. In this post, we are suggesting a solution for this. Check out our guide to fixing Windows 11/10 Update stuck at a blank screen with only Recycle Bin & Taskbar or Choose your keyboard layout.

Windows 11/10 upgrade stuck at blank screen

Before we go ahead to find a solution, here is a brief description of the error. There are two of them.

As soon as you log in to your account, you will observe a blank screen with only a Recycle Bin and a taskbar.  There will be no start screen, and even killing Windows Explorer with Task Manager will not help.

During the upgrade, the OS will prompt you Choose your keyboard layout and will be stuck at that.

Microsoft points the problem towards Avast Behavior Shield which is in conflict with a Windows 10 Update. While Avast has released an update to fix this issue, you will have to restore your system to a point from where a fix can be performed.

Users may also find that their Update screen is stuck at the Choose your keyboard layout screen,

It seems even though some of the users have tried performing a rollback, there is some problem. So our first method is to repair the rollback, and in case you are stuck at any point, switch to the second method.

1] Use Command Prompt to repair Windows Rollback

Here we will use command bcdedit. This command-line tool is to manage Boot Configuration Data (BCD). BCD files provide a store that is used to describe boot applications and boot application settings. So when you are the screen where it gets stuck, follow the steps below:

Here select US keyboard, and then at the “Choose an option screen”.

There should be 4 entries displayed.

The next entries will have an attribute called “device” or “bootstatdevice”, which will have a value similar to partition=E: (example)

In the command prompt, switch to the drive letter you noted in the previous step.  In this example, you would type E: and press Enter.

Type the following command and then press enter:

copy Windows.oldWindowsSystem32OOBESetupPlatformSetupPlatform.exe $WINDOWS.~BTSources

When completed, you should see the output, “1 file(s) copied”.  If you see anything else, quit, and switch to the next method we have mentioned.

Now you need to exit the command prompt, and it will take you to the Choose an option screen.

Select Continue – Exit and continue to Windows Rollback.

This will initiate the Windows Rollback, and restore your system to the previous version of Windows. Once it completes, it’s best not to upgrade manually, and wait for a notification from the Windows Update to notify you about an upgrade.

2] Perform an in-place upgrade

In this method, we will try to trick the installation process as if there is another copy of Windows 10 Installed. We will rename the chúng tôi folder to protect your personal files from being overwritten in certain scenarios.

To restore your system, you will need:

A blank USB drive with at least 8 GB of disk space

Another working Windows PC that you can use to create a bootable Windows 10 device.

In case things go south upgrading an in-place upgrade, the procedure of which has been shown in this post on Windows 11/10 Upgrade stuck at Choose your keyboard layout screen. Now let’s follow the steps below:

Download the Media Creation Tool on any other PC. This will give you a bootable disk from where you can do an installation.

Boot from the USB device you just created by changing the settings in your BIOS.

In the chúng tôi window, type C: and press Enter. Assuming C is the drive where your Windows was installed.

Type the following command Ren chúng tôi Windows.old.bak, and press Enter.

Exit the command prompt, and you will be back to Choose an option screen that we saw before.

Give it a few minutes, and it will load the desktop.

Once this is complete, we are now back to our usual desktop screen, and from here we can kick-start Window 10 installation manually. Since your access will be limited if the actual desktop doesn’t get loaded, we will use Task Manager to launch the Windows 10 chúng tôi which is available in the USB.

In the dialog box that appears, check the box for Create this task with administrator privileges.

Select Browse, and select the chúng tôi file which is available on the USB drive.

This will kickstart the Windows 10 Upgraded. However, make sure to uncheck the option which tries to check for new updates

Once the upgrade is complete, you can recover all your files from the Windows.old.bak folder.

Hope this works for you!

How To Add A Recycle Bin To Your Android Device.

Deleting files on Android devices is fast, easy and almost always permanent. Undoing accidental deletion, on the other hand, is hard, takes a lot of time, and rarely recovers all your data. To avoid going down the data recovery path it’s best to set up a recycling bin on your Android device.

How to Recover Accidentally Deleted Pictures and Files From Your PC or SD Card.

Unlike Windows operating systems, Android devices don’t have a backup place to store deleted files as a safeguard before permanent deletion. You simply tap delete and they are gone. It doesn’t have to be this way though, by installing a third-party recycling bin app from the Play Store, you’ll be able to set up a little contingency plan for the times you have a case of deletion regret.

How Do You Add a Recycle Bin to Your Android Smartphone or Tablet?

The app we are going to use is called Dumpster and is available from the Google Play Store. If you wish to try another recycling bin app, there are quite a few to choose from, however, Dumpster is one of the better-rated ones listed at the moment.

The way Dumpster works is quite simple, whenever you signal a file to be deleted it recognises the system change and diverts the file/files to its own location, then saves whatever you were going to delete. The files will remain here forever, taking up extra space on your device until you take action. There are two options at your disposal for doing this. Firstly, you can load into the app and delete the files manually from the main screen. Or you can go back to the Settings menu and set the Auto-Clean function to On.

With this function enabled, Dumpster will automatically empty itself either once per week, once per month or once every 3 months. Personally, I think that 1 week is plenty of time to realise if you have made a mistake.

How Do You Recover Deleted Files With Dumpster?

With Dumpster storing the files you are deleting on your device, you now have the option to restore them if you need to. The same way as the recycle bin works on Windows. Simply open the Dumpster app to view the list of files that have been deleted on your device. Then simply select the file/s you wish to restore, tap the Restore button and Dumpster will send them back where they came from.

How To Add Automatically Hide Taskbar To Context Menu In Windows 11/10

Add Automatically Hide Taskbar to Context Menu in Windows 11/10

To add the automatically hide taskbar option to the context menu in Windows 11/10 OS, we are going to make some changes to Windows Registry. So, before proceeding, it is good to backup Windows Registry or simply create a system restore point so that any unwelcomed or unexpected changes can be undone easily. Now check the steps covered below:

Open the Registry Editor

Access the Shell Registry key

Create a HideTaskbar key

Create the following String values under the HideTaskbar key:

Add value data for all these String values

Create a shell key under the HideTaskbar key

Create a 001flyout key in the shell Registry key

Add MUIVerb String Value under 001flyout key

Set Value data for MUIVerb to Turn on

Create a command name key in the 001flyout key

Add Value data for Default String Value present under command key

Create a 002flyout key under the shell key

Add MUIVerb String Value under 002flyout key

Set Value data for MUIVerb to Turn off

Create a CommandFlags DWORD value under the 002flyout key

Set its Value data

Create a command name key in the 002flyout key

Set Value data for Default String Value present under the command key

Close Registry Editor window.

Let’s check all these steps in detail. Just carefully follow each individual step and everything will be done easily.

Type regedit in the Search box of your Windows 11/10 computer and hit the Enter key to open the Registry Editor.

Go to the Shell key available under the main or root Registry key. The path is:

Leave the SubCommands String Value as it is. You don’t have to set its Value data.

Come back to the HideTaskbar Registry key and create a shell key under it.

In the 001flyout Registry key, create a command name sub-key. A Default name String Value will be created for that sub-key automatically. You don’t have to create it. Open the Edit String box of Default String Value and add the following data to the Value data:

powershell -command "&{$p='HKCU:SOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerStuckRects3';$v=(Get-ItemProperty -Path $p).Settings;$v[8]=3;&Set-ItemProperty -Path $p -Name Settings -Value $v;&Stop-Process -f -ProcessName explorer}"

Now, come back to the shell sub-key which is present under the HideTaskbar key. This time, create a 002flyout name sub-key inside the shell key. On the right-hand section of 002flyout, create a DWORD value and a String value with the names CommandFlags and MUIVerb.

powershell -command "&{$p= 'HKCU:SOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerStuckRects3' ;$v=(Get-ItemProperty -Path $p).Settings;$v[8]=2;&Set-ItemProperty -Path $p -Name Settings -Value $v;&Stop-Process -f -ProcessName explorer}"

That’s all! The work is done but you might need to restart File Explorer to save the changes. After that, when you will open the desktop context menu, the Automatically hide taskbar option will visible. Accessing that option will show you the Turn on and Turn off options that you can use as per your requirements.
