Pre-installation configuration

1. On your Android phone go to Settings.

I can easily whitelist those sites, but it’s going to be very time-consuming because I don’t know which sites are like CNN and which are not. Also, I want to ensure I never run into this problem again. So today, I am going to show you how to disable or remove AdBlock in commonly used browsers, step by step.

How to Disable AdBlock on Chrome

Note: The tutorial below is based on Chrome for macOS. If you are using Chrome on a Windows PC or an iOS or Android device, the interfaces will look slightly different but the processes should be similar.

Step 2: Toggle your AdBlock off. Depending on how many extensions you’ve added to Chrome, it may take you a while to locate “Adblock”. I’ve only installed five plugins, so it’s quite easy to spot the AdBlock icon.

If you are using Microsoft Edge (or Internet Explorer) on a PC, you can also turn off AdBlock easily. Just follow the steps below. Note: Since I only have a Mac, I let my teammate JP finish this part. He uses an HP laptop (Windows 10) which has Adblock Plus installed.

Depending on the application you will need to open, or forward, specific port(s) in order for them to work.

An easy way to find your computer IP address is by launching the Command Prompt and type: ipconfig and under the Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection or Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection look for the IPv4 Address, which will be the IP address of your machine.

In several games, V-Sync is enabled by default, but we don’t need V-Sync at all. It totally depends on the game. If you want to disable V-Sync, you will have to get to the Graphics/Video settings within the game and turn it off, so that G-Sync will be able to work properly.

As we discussed above, G-Sync works by synchronizing the GPU’s render rate with the monitor’s refresh rate. So, suppose your game is rendering at a lower frame rate than the refresh rate of your monitor, G-Sync will reduce the refresh rate of your monitor to match the GPU’s render rate, in order to ensure smooth gameplay. However, this process doesn’t work the other way round. If the GPU renders the game at a higher frame rate than the monitor’s refresh rate, G-Sync won’t do anything and you will experience screen tearing while playing. In order to avoid this, you need to lock the frame rate of your game to the refresh rate of your monitor. You can do this by going to the graphics/video settings of your game.

Note: Not all games let you lock the frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor. In such cases, you will need to use something in addition to G-Sync. This can be done on the NVIDIA Control Panel by enabling Fast Sync in the Vertical Sync option, instead of completely turning it off. If you don’t prefer doing this, you can make use of a third-party software like RivaTuner which comes along with MSI Afterburner that can limit the frame rate.

How To Install And Configure Davinci Resolve In Linux

If you are a content creator, especially a video editor, then you have heard about DaVinci Resolve. DaVinci Resolve is known for its color correction capabilities in large film studios and comes with a powerful video and audio editor and composer, like Adobe After Effects, making it a go-to creative software among Linux creators. Unlike other creative software, DaVinci Resolve supports the Linux platform, so you don’t need any windows API translation layer like wine to install DaVinci Resolve.

Download Linux Binaries

Go to the DaVinci Resolve release page and download the latest version. At the time of writing, the latest version is version 18. DaVinci Resolve comes in two versions: free and paid. Select and download the Linux binaries and save them in your download folder.

The DaVinci Resolve Linux build was released to run on CentOS, a RedHat-owned distribution. Therefore, If you are using Fedora or another RedHat distribution, you don’t need to follow the build step.

For Debian and Ubuntu-based distributions, you have to convert the DaVinci Resolve .run file into a .deb file.

To make this conversion possible, download and extract the MakeResolveDeb script.

If you want to edit your screen recordings using DaVinci Resolve and don’t want to transcode your recorded file every time you want to edit, then you have to change some settings in your OBS application.

You can see that when we transcode the files to edit in DaVinci Resolve, the sizes are very big – sometimes hundreds of gigabytes. Therefore, editing and uploading the rendered file of a few hundred gigabytes takes a very long time. Even if you want to store the files on your hard disk, those sizes are very huge compared to their length.

You can change the compression and output quality by adjusting the -crf flag. By default, I set it to 1, the highest quality. You can set this flag up to 25 for maximum compression. It also reduces video quality when -crf is a very high number.
