The System File Checker (SFC) is another built-in Windows tool that scans for system file corruption and repairs/replaces missing or damaged system files. You can also run the System File Checker from the RWUT instead of having to run multiple commands in Command Prompt.
Type 6 in the app terminal, press Enter and follow the recommendations on the results page.
You might need to reboot your computer to complete or execute pending system repairs.7. Scan for Component Store Corruption
The “Component Store” houses the files and functions required to customize and update Windows. Problems with files in the Component Store can cause Windows update issues. The RWUT can fix Component Store corruption at the push of a button.
Type 7 in the “Select an option” row and press Enter.8. Reset the Microsoft Store
Are you unable to download apps from the Microsoft Store? Or, you can’t access the app store because your computer won’t open Microsoft Store app? Resetting the Microsoft Store via the RWUT can fix the problem.
Launch the tool, type 13 (or whatever digit corresponds to Reset Microsoft Windows Store), and press Enter.

If you’re a PC gamer sick of lugging around an 8- to 10-pound monster with awful battery life just to play games, Alienware’s M11x is your salvation. This 11.6-inch ultraportable laptop has enough power to play all the latest titles while making only modest compromises, yet it’s considerably more portable than typical gaming notebooks in the 15-inch range, let alone giant desktop-replacement notebooks. With prices starting at $799 (as of April 2, 2010; our review system was kitted out to a $1099 configuration), it generally doesn’t cost as much as those larger alternatives, either.
Our review system came with 4GB of RAM (up from 2GB in the base configuration, and highly recommended). The base configuration also includes the Intel SU4100 ULV processor; the SU7300 that our review unit had costs $100 more. Graphics duties are handled by the very capable GeForce 335M with 1GB of video memory. The system unfortunately does not use nVidia’s new Optimus switchable graphics technology, so you have to switch between the Intel integrated GPU and the nVidia GPU manually (or rely on Windows power profiles). Fortunately, Alienware has made this task quite easy: The Function-F6 key combination toggles between the Intel and nVidia graphics, so it’s easy to get longer battery life when you’re just surfing the Web and then to kick in the powerful discrete graphics when it’s game time. As for storage, the default configuration has a 160GB, 5400-rpm hard drive; you should opt for one of the faster 7200-rpm models, which can have a big impact on overall performance. Our review system was loaded with a 500GB drive, but if you have cash to spare, you can pay through the nose for a 256GB solid-state drive.
Regardless of what the true CPU speed is, the M11x flies. On our WorldBench 6 tests, it earned a score of 77, which is among the best marks we’ve seen from an ultraportable PC. Does the overclocked CPU ruin your battery life? Our tests say no–at least, not if you throw enough battery at it. Using the Intel integrated graphics, with the CPU in its overclocked state, we achieved about 7.5 hours of battery life. That was without any sort of bulky extended battery sticking out of the bottom of the case. In fact, extended batteries are not available: The M11x’s eight-cell prismatic battery is fully integrated and can’t be easily removed, which helps give the case a smooth and clean look.
What about game performance? I was easily able to play current AAA titles like Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with good results. You won’t be able to run the more-strenuous games at maximum detail level, but you can set things high enough for games to look really good and still get smooth frame rates. You can easily max out other games, like Left 4 Dead 2. If there’s a downside to playing games on this system, it’s the fan noise: When things get hot, the fan spins up loudly. I can’t help but think that a better ventilation design would have helped.
The screen is probably the worst part of the Alienware M11x, and it’s only average. The 1366 by 768 resolution is plenty for an 11.6-inch display, but the color gamut is limited and a little washed out. Viewing angles are mediocre, and the poor vertical viewing angles are especially noticeable on a small laptop such as this. The audio, on the other hand, is excellent for an ultraportable system. Whether I was listening to music, watching video, or playing games, the sound this little guy pumped out remained relatively clean even at high volumes.
I’m especially pleased with the port selection and location on this laptop. The left side has three video plugs (VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort), along with a powered USB port, gigabit ethernet, memory card readers, and FireWire. The right side is relatively clean, with two USB ports and three audio jacks (a microphone input and two headphone jacks, to make it easier to share a movie with someone in private). Note that the machine has no optical drive, so if you buy your games on disc, you’ll need an external USB drive to load them onto the system; with so many games and other PC apps sold through digital distribution these days, this limitation is less of a problem than it used to be. Both 802.11a/b/g/n networking and Bluetooth 2.1 are standard.

App campaigns currently accept over 30 different sizes and dimensions for image assets.
That can get complicated, so Google Ads is shifting from size-based to ratio-based image specifications.
Google says this will make the creative process simpler and more efficient.
The three aspect ratios are:
1:1 (Square): Minimum size of 200 x 200, recommended size of 1200 x 1200
1.91:1 (Landscape): Minimum size of 600 x 314, maximum size of 1200 x 628
4:5 (Portrait): Minimum size of 320 x 400, Recommended size of 1200 x 1500
Google is also increasing the image file size limit from 150KB to 5MB so assets can be uploaded in higher quality.
The approved file format for images now only include .jpg and .png. Google is disabling GIFs as an option.
All app campaigns will be migrated to this set of requirements starting early next year.
As this update gets closer to rolling out, Google Ads plans to introduce a tool for cropping images into either of the three supported aspect ratios.
The cropping tool will also be available when images are uploaded for newly created campaigns.

A new tool from Gmail lets you see what Gmail and its users think of your email based on a reputation score and spam reporting levels. Follow Tim Watson’s tutorial for how to use it.
It’s no secret to email marketers that the major ISPs create reputation scores for email senders and that a good reputation is fundamental to getting delivered to the inbox.
Until now you had no way of knowing your Gmail reputation score. Getting to the inbox has felt like ten pin bowling with a curtain in front of the pins.
But over the summer Gmail made available a free tool for senders to obtain data on their own reputation. Finally you can know what Gmail users think of your email.
I’ll cover in a minute how to sign up to see your own stats, but first a quick summary of why you’ll want to do this.
Access gives you reports for Spam Rate, IP Reputation, Domain Reputation, Feedback Loop, Authentication, Encryption and Delivery Errors.
So far I’ve found the first three of these reports to be the most useful. So let me go into those.
With Gmail you don’t have a single reputation score but in fact Gmail calculates reputation for both the sending domain and sending IP addresses. Domain reputation is becoming a big factor at many major ISPs.IP Reputation report
This report shows the reputation for all the IP addresses Gmail has seen email being sent from for your domain.
There are four levels of reputation and of course you’ll want to be high, as in the example below. Within the user interface (but not shown below) you’ll see detailed information for each of the IP addresses Gmail detected and their reputation rating.
The bars only show for days that you actually sent email.Domain Reputation report
This shows the reputation Gmail has calculated for your sending domain. As with IP reputation it’s graded in four levels.Spam Rate Report
Shows a graph of spam complaints over time. This is the number of your recipients classifying your email as spam in the Gmail user interface.
What level of Spam complaint rates is acceptable in Gmail?
You should be aiming to keep spam complaint rate below 0.1%. Because the report only shows data to one decimal point that means aim for most days aim to have 0% with a few at 0.1%. From the reports I’ve looked at the occasional 0.2% is not overall too harmful to reputation.
There is one additional criterion to get this report; you must have DKIM authentication setup. If you are using a good ESP this should be the case.Gmail spam feedback loop (FBL) report
The feedback loop report shows the Feedback Loop Spam rate and Feedback Loop identifier count.
Confused? Sounds like the same as the Spam Rate report?
Well it is a very similar but this report is specifically giving a summary of the stats from the Gmail feedback loop system. The feedback loop system provides user spam complaint data back to ESPs that have support for this Gmail system.
It’s based on the same user spam complaints as the Spam Rate report, but provides further granularity. As long as your ESP has extra Gmail specific headers in your emails and is signed up with the Gmail feedback loop then data for spam complaints by campaign is also available.How to use the tool
The most important use is quite simply to know if you have strong Gmail inbox placement. There is no tool or metric available anywhere else that will give you a better sense of this.
Simply signup and check you’ve high IP reputation and high domain reputation.
If you’ve high reputation then you’ve nothing to do but monitor it stays high. Put it on the regular report list, weekly or monthly depending on your level of email activity.
If it’s not high then you’ve now hard facts that you’ve an issue to work on and solve.Does this help me fix my deliverability issue?
Some of the reports I’ve not covered give your deliverability analysis some further clues and of course looking at the time line for complaints and your sending pattern can help further.
Questions to consider when complaints peak include; what segments were being sent to? Was different or new data introduced? Was the message and content different to your typical emails? Did you change display from name or use a very different subject line?

The verification process involves adding a DNS record to your sending domain. If your company manages your domain then it’s 15 minutes work for the IT person in charge of your domain DNS to do this.
