Suggested December 2023 Fixing Common Problems With Charging Your Iphone Or Ipad
Not only did Apple spend a ton of money and time in the research leading up to its proprietary reversible Lightning cable for charging, but they’ve also made the software that handles charging your iOS device intelligent too.
Nevertheless, charging your device can sometimes be followed by some frustrating problems, and they’re all too common. In this piece, we’ll go over some of those problems charging iPhone and iPad, and what you can do to troubleshoot them.
Common problems when charging iOS devicesWhen it comes to iOS devices, there are a number of issues that can arise. I can honestly say that I’ve experienced every single one of the issues I’m about ro cover, and as a result, I’d assume most of you have experienced at least one or more of the issues outlined below:
Device won’t charge
Device is charging slower than expected
iPad displays a “Not Charging” indicator in the Status Bar
‘Accessory not supported’ pop-up messages get displayed
If you’ve ever had any of these problems charging your iPhone or iPad, you’ve come to the right article, because we’ll be talking about how to troubleshoot these issues and get your battery all charged up for a day’s worth of use.
What to do when your device isn’t chargingI’ve had scenarios with Apple’s OEM Lightning cables simply don’t get recognized by my iPhone or iPad when I plug it in, as well as with third-party Lightning cables. It seems to be some kind of fluke, but typically is pretty easy to fix.
Re-seat the Lightning cable – If you plug in a cable to charge your device and your Status Bar doesn’t seem to recognize that the device is connected to power, try unplugging and plugging the cable back in again. Sometimes the electrical contacts on the Lightning cable wear out over time and they simply don’t get a good bite on the Lightning connector in your device.
Let it charge for a bit – If you’ve plugged the device in and the screen is completely black, the battery might just be too dead to show anything, so try giving it 30 minutes to an hour to see if anything comes up on the screen after the battery has some time to collect a little juice.
Possible Lightning port damage – Other times, you might have a damaged Lightning port and the Lightning cable isn’t getting gripped tight enough. In this scenario, there is too much play and the contacts can’t stay seated for the device to charge. You may need to contact AppleCare to resolve this problem, and it usually comes from over-using your port or from being hard on it.
Clean the junk out of your Lightning port – Your lightning port could just be full of lint and dirt that is keeping your Lightning cable from being plugged in all the way. Try to remove the junk with a nylon or wooden toothpick (non-conductive), but don’t use anything metal like a paperclip, as this could cause electronic damage in the event of electric or static discharge.
Possible Lightning cable damage – Just like the port itself, the cable may have sustained damage. Apple’s cables aren’t exactly known for having durability built into their design. They’re thin and the part of the connector where the wire meets often gets damaged. Look for signs of tears or frays in the cable.
Bad power outlet – If charging with a power outlet, it may not be providing electricity. If charging with a USB port on your computer, the same could happen. Try a new power outlet or a new USB port.
What to do when a device is charging too slowlyIn some cases, the problems charging your iPhone or iPad might not be with the device not charging at all, but rather with the device charging too slowly. Here are some things you can try in this scenario:
Check for cable damage – A charging cable with damage may be resulting in a slower charge. There is a certain amount of conductive metal in the cable, and when any part of that metal gets frayed, the volume efficiency is reduced and the amount of electricity that can travel through the wire is reduced, which may lead to less power getting supplied to the device.
Check for port damage – With a visual inspection, make sure that none of the contacts in the Lightning port are damaged. Also, look for any signs of dust that may be blocking critical contacts and try to fish them out with a nylon or wooden toothpick (non-conductive).
What to do when the Status Bar says “Not Charging”Sometimes when you plug in an iPad, which requires a higher power output to charge, and the charging accessory you’re using doesn’t support the higher amount of power output, your iPad might display the words “Not Charging” in place of the battery percentage. Here are some things you can do to fix this:
Use a higher-power USB port – Computers often have both high-power and low-power USB ports on them. On PCs, it can he hard to tell the difference, so you’ll have to refer to your computer’s manual, or contact the manufacturer. On modern Macs, USB ports support higher power output, so you shouldn’t really ever have this problem when using your Mac to charge an iPad unless it’s a dinosaur.
Avoid USB adapters and USB hubs – If you’re using USB adapters and/or USB hubs for your computer to give it more USB ports, these hubs may not have the capability of supplying as much juice as the raw USB port from the computer itself can. Avoid using hubs or ports on your keyboard when you intend to charge your iPad.
What to do when iOS says your accessory isn’t certifiedIf you ever get strange pop-up alerts on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad when you attempt to charge it with the inexpensive Lightning cable you just bought from Walmart, Ebay, or Amazon, you’re not alone. After all, Apple’s OEM replacements are expensive, and third-party cables are cheaper.
The only problem with this is Apple has a little chip inside of the cables that the iOS device communicates with and it tells the device whether or not the cable is ‘Made for iPhone’ or MFi certified. If it’s not, you may get these little error messages every so often, and the wording sometimes varies depending on the scenario.
Here’s what you can do:
Try re-seating the Lightning cable – I’ve had luck simply un-plugging and plugging the cable back in again. Although I sometimes get these messages, simply dismissing them and proceeding anyway tends to work most of the time (not all the time).
Use an OEM Apple Lightning cable – If you have an OEM Lightning cable, use it instead. The pop-up is appearing because the cable isn’t made by Apple and this makes Apple cranky. Avoid third-party Lightning cables and USB adapters unless you have no real choice, as they can actually cause damage to the battery.
Reboot your device – Sometimes simply rebooting your device can wake the device up from its MFi hypnosis. Try this at least once if the pop-up isn’t going away.
Clean your Lightning port – Sweep away any dust or debris that might be hindering communications in your Lightning port. As recommended earlier, use only a nylon or wooden toothpick, as these are non-conductive and won’t short anything out.
Contact AppleCare – If the device continues to have issues, and you’re using an OEM Lightning cable, you may need to contact Apple support. It’s rare that an OEM cable isn’t recognized, but it’s not impossible; it has happened to people before. Sometimes the Lightning cables are just defective from the factory.
ConclusionHopefully you’ve been able to sort out the problems charging your iPhone or iPad after following some of these tips.
Charging glitches are far from uncommon on Apple-branded mobile devices, and I’m not saying they’re uncommon on other brands of mobile devices either, but from my experience I’ve had trouble with almost everything on this list at least once in my life. Nevertheless, it’s usually always something really stupid and easy to fix.

Macos Monterey Problems – Fixing Issues With Macos 12
Difficulties with new system software versions seem to always occur for a small subset of unfortunate users, and MacOS Monterey is no different. While MacOS Monterey has installed fine for most users, for an unlikely group, there may be a variety of problems or issues experienced with MacOS Monterey.
Problems with MacOS Monterey & How to Fix Them
Let’s check out some known issues with MacOS Monterey, along with some troubleshooting tips to resolve the problems.
MacOS Monterey Not Showing as Available, “Unable to Check for Updates” Error, etcIf MacOS Monterey is not showing as available to download in Software Update as expected, it may be because of several reasons, both of which are typically easy to determine and remedy.
The Mac is incompatible with MacOS Monterey – you can check a list of macOS Monterey compatible Macs here if you are not sure
There is a temporary hiccup in communicating with the Apple update servers – confirm that wi-fi is on and you have internet access, then refresh the Software Update control panel by hitting Command+R
If you know you’re on a compatible Mac, and Software Update is still not showing Monterey as available, you can also find a direct download link for MacOS Monterey chúng tôi here, which will place the full installer within your /Applications/ folder.
MacOS Monterey Feels SlowSome Mac users may feel that MacOS Monterey is running slower than a prior macOS release they had installed. This is fairly common after any major system software update, because after installing a new OS a variety of maintenance and indexing tasks are kicked off in the background to do things like rebuild the Spotlight search index and reindex photos.
If the Mac feels slow after updating to MacOS Monterey, the best thing you can do is simply leave the Mac turned on and wait. You can typically speed up the indexing process by leaving the Mac on and idle with the screen off, perhaps overnight. Performance should recover within a day or two, depending on the amount of data to index.
Wi-Fi Dropping or Not Working as Expected with MacOS MontereyWi-fi issues seem to happen with some regularity to a subset of users with any system software update. From wi-fi dropping connections, to slow speeds, to other wi-fi abnormalities, all manner of wi-fi problems can crop up for some users after updating system software.
Fortunately wi-fi problems are typically one of the simplest issues to resolve, and often simply trashing current wi-fi preferences, rebooting, and then rejoining a wi-fi network is enough to resolve the problem.
Bluetooth Dropping, Not Connecting with MacOS MontereySome users have found that MacOS Monterey drops bluetooth connections for some devices.
Sometimes simply disconnecting and then reconnecting the Bluetooth Device from the Mac will resolve the problem.
Also, be sure the batteries on the Bluetooth devices are fully charged, or if they’re swappable are fresh. Often Bluetooth randomly disconnects due to batteries being low, so charging the batteries of the device that is problematic is a simple solution.
If you know the batteries are charged, another trick is to remove the Bluetooth Device from the Mac, reboot the Mac, then add and pair the Bluetooth Device to the Mac again. Yes that’s a little tedious but it tends to resolve these issues.
If all else fails, you can often fix Bluetooth errors by trashing the preferences.
You can also reset your Bluetooth module with the following command entered at the Terminal:
sudo pkill bluetoothd
MacOS Monterey Won’t Download or InstallSome users are experiencing issues even earlier in the update process, where macOS Monterey won’t download, an incomplete installer has downloaded, or MacOS Monterey won’t install at all.
Typically these sort of issues can be resolved by dumping the current installer, rebooting the Mac, and then redownloading the full macOS Monterey installer either from System Preferences, the App Store, or by direct download of the chúng tôi file.
Some users may see an error stating “An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.” If you see this error, try redownloading the installer and running it again. Note however if the Mac is using a third party non-Apple SSD, that particular error message may persist until a firmware update has been able to install with an official Apple SSD, more on that in a moment.
MacOS Monterey Won’t Install Onto Macs with Non-Apple SSDSome Mac users who have replaced the built-in SSD drive on their Mac may find a peculiar “A required firmware update could not be installed” error message on the Mac running with a third party SSD.
There isn’t a great solution to this problem for the time being, but one solution is to replace the third party SSD with an Apple SSD again, install MacOS Monterey onto the Apple SSD, then replace the Apple SSD with the third party SSD again, and install MacOS Monterey onto there. This allows the firmware update to install onto the Mac, but it’s obviously a huge hassle because you have to physically swap out a hard drive several times.
Presumably this issue will be resolved in a future MacOS Monterey update.
Additional info can be found at the tinyapps blog.
“Your System Has Run Out of Application Memory” Error and Memory Leaks with MontereySome Mac users running MacOS Monterey have discovered issues with runaway memory usage. This is not subtle if you are impacted by it, because you will receive a pop-up error informing you “Your System Has Run Out of Application Memory” and offering a Force Quit menu with memory usage shown to quit out of offending apps with.
In the most absurd examples, apps like Mail, Pages, Final Cut, Brave, or Firefox are consuming 80GB of memory (in the form of swap), rendering the Mac and the application basically useless and nonfunctional. Sometimes system apps and tasks are running into this issue as well, like Control Center, FaceTime, or Notifications.
Some reports indicate that using a custom cursor size or color in macOS may cause the memory leaks, therefore if you are using any customizations to the Mac cursor, it would be a good idea to reset those back to default for the time being.
One temporary solution to this is to quit out of the memory hogging app, then rebooting. The “system out of memory” error may appear again after some time, in which case again quitting and rebooting is the temporary solution.
Sometimes, the Mac becomes completely unusable by the memory leak, requiring a hard forced reboot (pressing and holding the power button).
Alternatively, you could try using a different app with the same functionality, for example using Safari instead of Firefox.
This is obviously some type of bug that will certainly be resolved in a future macOS Monterey update, and perhaps updates to individual apps as well.
MacOS Monterey Rendering Some Macs Unusable / Unbootable / BrickedWe first received reports of this bricking Mac problem on the day that macOS Monterey was released, but assumed they were a fluke. Since then, the reports have been more frequent, and more covered in other Apple resources online, suggesting the issue is more widespread than a rare fluke.
It’s not entirely clear what the issue is with this, but it’s presumed to be a failure of a firmware update during the MacOS Monterey installation.
Unfortunately there is no known fix or resolution to this issue, except for contacting Apple Support and having them start a repair.
This is obviously a bug or some other issue with the MacOS Monterey installer, and will certainly be resolved in a future update.
Though this problem is not common, it is also not so exceptionally rare that it should be discounted entirely. If your Mac is mission critical, you may want to hold off on updating to MacOS Monterey until this particular issue is resolved.
Update 11/5/2023: Apple has acknowledged this issue with T2 Macs and apparently resolved the firmware issue. For anyone who is currently impacted by this problem, impacted users are told to contact Apple Support for assistance, according to MacRumors.
“Volume Hash Mismatch detected on volume. macOS should be reinstalled” ErrorA fair number of macOS Monterey users have reported a curious error message that states: “Volume Hash Mismatch – Hash mismatch detected on volume disk1s5. macOS should be reinstalled on this volume.” or some variation of that error message.
Often the “Volume Hash Mismatch” error appears after a major system crash, kernel panic, and reboot.
Some Mac users have discovered their Mac becomes increasingly unstable after they have experienced this error message.
For some users, reinstalling macOS fixes the issue.
Reinstalling macOS does not resolve the error for everyone however, which makes it even more curious.
Using Disk First Aid also does not seem to make a difference.
Downgrading to macOS Big Sur does appear to do away with the error, but that’s not a reasonable option for most users.
It’s unclear what the cause of this error is or what will ultimately resolve it, perhaps a future macOS Monterey version.
USB-C Hubs Stopped Working with MacOS MontereySome Mac users discovered that some USB-C hubs stop working after updating to MacOS Monterey, or they may work sporadically, frequently disconnecting, or only some of the USB-C hub ports are working.
Curiously, some users who are impacted by this find that switching USB-C cables, using a shorter USB-C cable, or changing ports on the Mac can resolve the issue.
“A required firmware update could not be installed” Error During macOS Monterey UpdateThe “A required firmware update could not be installed” update is typically associated with using a Mac that was upgraded with a third party SSD, or on a Mac where MacOS Monterey is attempted to install on an external SSD.
Variations of this error may phrase different error messages, like:
“Compatible internal storage is required in order to update.”
or
“An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.”
or
“A required firmware update could not be installed.”
Sometimes simply attempting to reinstall macOS Monterey will resolve this issue.
In some cases, where the problem is associated with a third party SSD installed on a Mac, the current workaround is to switch the SSD back to the Apple SSD, install MacOS Monterey onto that, then switch back to the third party SSD, then install macOS Monterey again. A hassle, certainly.
Adobe Photoshop Elements Not Working, Freezes with MacOS MontereyMany users report that Adobe Photoshop Elements may freeze upon launch, crash, or not open at all.
This is presumably going to be fixed by Adobe in a future software update released by them.
Apps Crashing, Freezing, Not Working as Expected in macOS MontereySome third party apps are experiencing issues with MacOS Monterey, whether the apps crash, freeze, or otherwise don’t work as expected.
For third party apps that are experiencing incompatibility with MacOS Monterey, updating apps regularly, and/or reaching out to the app developer is the best course of action.
Part of the purpose of Apple’s beta software period is for app developers to get their apps compatible and ready to function as intended with the new macOS system software and whatever architectural changes are made in it. For some developers, this process can take longer than others, and some apps may be incompatible with the latest MacOS Monterey release because of that.

How To Track A Lost Or Stolen Iphone Or Ipad With Find My Iphone
This tutorial will show you how you can track your lost or stolen iPhone or iPad using Apple’s Find My service, play an alarm-like sound on it, see how far the lost device is, and get directions to it to hopefully recover your missing device.
In a previous post, we had a look at the first step in securing your iPhone or iPad by enabling Find My iPhone, a feature that lets you track, lock, and even remotely wipe the device in case it has been lost or stolen. Now that you have the feature turned on, we’re going to show you how to use Find My to track an iPhone or iPad that has been lost, stolen, or misplaced.
Tracking an iOS device with Find My iPhone requires that you either have the Find My app installed on another device (it could be your iPad, another iPhone, Mac, or someone else’s iPhone or iPad) or that you use Find My directly from chúng tôi Both methods work equally well, and the steps to track a device are pretty much identical regardless of what you use.
How to track an iPhone or iPad with Find My1) Open Apple’s Find My app on your other iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
Tip: The app doesn’t have to be installed on your own device. For example, you could use a friend’s iPhone or iPad to track your lost iPhone or iPad. As mentioned above, you can also log in to chúng tôi from any computer and use Find My there.
You may not be asked to log in to the Find My app on your devices. But if you’re using your family member’s or friend’s iPhone, make sure to log in using your Apple ID that’s on your lost device.
2) Tap Devices in the Find My app, and it will display a split screen with a map at the top and a list of devices that are linked to your Apple ID at the bottom. Tap the device that has been lost or stolen to locate it. I’m selecting my iPad.
You will see the current location of the device under your iPhone or iPad’s name.
3) Play a sound on a lost device: Once located, tap Play Sound. This is great if you lost your phone around the house and it is on mute. Even if the device is on mute, it will play a sound so you can locate it if it’s nearby. If the device is stolen, playing the sound may deter the petty thief.
4) Get directions to a lost device: If your device is not nearby, you can get directions to its location. The Directions tile shows how far your lost iPhone is and how much time it will take you to get there. Once you tap the Directions button, it will open Apple Maps and give you driving directions to the device. Tap GO to start the navigation.
Note that if you believe your device was stolen (not just lost), we highly recommend putting it in Lost Mode.
Related tips:
Using the Find My app offers a handy way to get directions to the misplaced device. However, if you don’t have another iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, nor can you get one from a friend or family member, you can open chúng tôi in a computer web browser to know the whereabouts of your lost device.
1) Go to chúng tôi in a web browser on your computer and log in using your Apple ID. It should be the one that’s on your lost iPhone or iPad.
How To Hide Apps On Iphone Or Ipad
Once you’ve had your iPhone or iPad for a while, you may start noticing that your screen becomes cluttered with the many apps you’ve downloaded. You might wish you could remove some apps from your home screen to clear it up while still accessing the apps whenever you want.

Thankfully, Apple has created a way you can do exactly that. There are a few different ways you can hide apps on your home screen, depending on how hidden you want them to be. This article will detail multiple ways you can achieve this, and all of them are very easy, and you can do them in a matter of minutes.
Use the App LibraryWhen iOS 14 came out for iPhones, it introduced the App Library. This new feature allows you to have a place to put all your apps so that they’re always accessible, though they won’t appear on your home screen.
Instead, you can search for the app you need within this library or use the iPhone’s search feature. Here’s how to add an app to the App Library.
Find the app you want to hide, then tap and hold it.
When you see a menu come up, tap on the Edit Home Screen option.
All the apps and widgets on your home screen will start shaking, and you’ll notice a minus sign icon in the corner of apps. Tap on this minus icon for the app you want hidden.
In the pop-up, tap on Remove from Home Screen. The app will immediately be placed in the App Library.
After this, you’ll want to find the app you’ve hidden. There are two ways to do this:
Swipe downward on the top of the screen within your home screen. In the search bar, search for the app you want to use.
Alternatively, swipe to the right of your home screen, and the App Library will appear. In the top search bar, you can search and find any of your hidden apps. You can also look within the categorized sections to find the app.
If you don’t want to completely remove an app from your home screen, there’s another way you can keep your apps organized and hidden from immediate view.
Use App FoldersiPhones also allow you to organize your apps into folders, which are separate sections where you can group apps. These will appear right on your home screen, but they can significantly decrease the number of apps visible.
Using app folders is better if you don’t want an app completely hidden but want your home screen to look more organized. Here’s how to create and use an app folder:
Find two apps you want to hide. Hold down on one of them, and then tap on Edit Home Screen when the menu pops up.
Now, tap and hold on one of the apps you want hidden and drag it on top of the other app. This will create an app folder.
Tap on the created folder while still in home screen edit mode to change the title of the folder and the order of the apps inside. You can also drag one of the apps out if you wish, but you need at least one app in a folder.
When you have organized your folders, go back to your main home screen and tap on the Done button in the top right corner of your screen.
To give the folder a unique name, tap on the default name and type a custom name in the name field.
The nice thing about app folders is that you can always edit them, and it provides quick and easy access to apps while still keeping your home screen looking clear.
Hide Apps From SearchIf you want to go a step further and remove an app from your iPhone’s search suggestions without entirely deleting it, this is also possible. Keep in mind that you’ll have to look through the app library or folders yourself to find it or go back into the settings to change them if you want to search for the app again.
Here’s how to hide the app from any search suggestions:
Open the iPhone Settings app.
Scroll down to the list of apps on your phone and tap the one you want to hide from search.
Tap on Siri & Search.
Underneath the On Home Screens section, tap on the sliders of any options you don’t want for the app. For example, if you don’t want the app to show up in searches, turn the slider for Show App in Search off.
You can also prevent the app from showing up in suggestions on your lock screen by going to the On Lock Screen section and turning the Show Suggestions from App slider off.
If you want to search for the app again, you can go back into settings and turn these back on whenever you wish.
Hide Pre-Installed AppsWhile you cannot delete the apps installed on your iPhone by default, you can still hide them if you wish. It just looks a little different than hiding an app you installed from the App Store.
Find the pre-installed app you want to hide, and tap and hold on it.
In the menu that appears, tap on Remove App.
Tap on Remove from Home Screen.
Hiding Apps on iPhone or iPadThere are many ways to hide apps on your iPhone, making it easy to keep your main screens clutter-free while still keeping your hidden apps accessible.
How To Add Timestamp To New And Existing Photos On Your Iphone Or Ipad
For aesthetics or practical reasons, you can put a timestamp over your photos to make it clear when it was taken. In this tutorial, we will show you how to quickly add the current date and time over your pictures or use a camera app that automatically adds a timestamp over the photos it takes.
If you recall, digital cameras we used before the popularity of smartphones would usually add a small orange or yellow timestamp in a corner of the pictures you took with it. It served well to inform when the image was shot.
Similarly, when you take a picture on your iPhone, it already puts the location, date & time, and a bunch of other information in the photo file. This information is called metadata, and you can even tweak or remove it. The problem is – this date and time info is only visible when you view that picture in the Photos app or see its properties on your computer.
Therefore, if you want to put the date and time explicitly over an image, we will show you how to do that using free iOS apps.
1. Using the Watermark appWe have a dedicated tutorial showing you multiple ways to add a text-based or image-based watermaker to your photos from your iPhone. You can use the text-based methods and add the date and time, which will serve as the timestamp. In addition to that, you can use this handy app to quickly put the date and time over your photo.
1) Download the Watermark app and open it.
2) Tap From Gallery and pick the image you want to add the date and time to.
3) Tap Full to skip cropping the image and hit the check mark icon.
4) Scroll down and pick the Time Month Year watermark style.
5) You will see the current date and time automatically added over the image. Optionally, you can use the keyboard to change this time and date. Next, drag the timestamp to an appropriate spot on the image and adjust its size using the two-finger pinch-in and pinch-out gestures. You can also edit the color, fonts, and a few other things using the options in the bottom row.
6) Finally, tap the check mark icon and tap Yes to save this image with the timestamp to your iPhone’s Photos app.
2. Using Photo Date Stamper1) Download the Date Stamper app on your iPhone or iPad and open it.
2) Allow the app to access your photos and pick an image.
3) The app will automatically use the photo metadata (if it exists) and add the location and date the image was taken on.
Additionally, it will show you an alert to access your location, and if you allow that, it can also stamp your current location over the image, which you can remove by going to Location and choosing the none tile.
4) Tap Date from the bottom to pick another style. A few of them also display the time. You can further tap the settings icon to customize it. In my tests, I could use the Pro styles even without making a payment.
5) Next, place the date stamp at the desired location and change its size.
6) Finally, tap the share icon and choose Save to Photos.
3. Using Timestamp CameraIt’s a camera app for your iPhone that automatically adds the current date, time, and even location to your photos and videos. If you want all your photos to display the timestamp, this is the easiest and most logical way. Here’s how it works:
1) Download the Timestamp Camera app on your iPhone or iPad and open it.
2) Allow it to access your camera and other things like microphone if you also plan to record videos with timestamps using this app.
3) Once you have passed step 2, you will notice the current date and time in the top right corner of the screen. If you’re happy with it, simply tap the white shutter button, and the images you take will have the date and time added to them.
4) However, if you want to customize the timestamp style, tap the clock icon and choose a position, format, font, opacity, etc. You can even display the compass data, altitude, speed, and map over your image. The options here are super handy, so make sure you spend a minute exploring everything. Remember to tap Done to save the changes.
In addition to that, you can also tap the menu button from the top to further tweak the camera settings.
And on top of everything, this free app has a companion paid app called Timestamp Photo and Video pro to add timestamps to existing iPhone photos.

Change the volume balance between the left and right channels, and enable “Mono Audio” if required.
8. Turn On Assistive TouchIf the senior using the iOS device plans to use an accessory such as Apple Watch, or needs help with the touch screen, enable assistive touch.
Open Settings and go to Accessibility.
Under “Physical and Motor,” tap Touch.
Tap “AssistiveTouch.”
Enable the toggle for AssistiveTouch and customize the other settings provided.
9. Turn On Touch AccommodationsTouch accommodation changes how the touch screen responds. Enabling this can help seniors who have a hard time pressing the screen.
Open Settings and go to Accessibility.
Under “Physical and Motor,” tap Touch.
Select “Touch Accommodations.”
Turn the toggle on. You can also customize the hold duration and enable swipe gestures from this section.
10. Enable Guided AccessGuided Access turns the iOS device into a simple item that is easy to use, and makes it impossible to accidentally delete apps or change settings. This is handy if you want to, say, disable the touch screen while playing Netflix.
Turn the toggle on to enable Guided Access.
