Father and Son is not some arcade or puzzle game but is a direct emotional strike to players’ hearts and minds. The game uncovers a plot focusing on a father-son relationship via exploring three different tales set in three different eras – the present day Naples, ancient Egypt, and Pompeii in 79 AD. The three eras and the events around them uncovers a father’s love for his son, while the protagonist tries to learn more about his own father’s nature, whom he had never known.

A very simple game with comic strip graphics and a short-length story, it is one of the best android games that connect with the player at an emotional level, which is rarely a case in mobile games. Rated 4.5/5, Father and Son is a must play to have a diversion from commonly played games on android.

The Best Power Strips You Can Buy Right Now

Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority

One of the most essential pieces of tech you can get your hands on is a good power strip. It is easy to forget about the benefits these simple devices offer, but they can make your life much easier and protect your electronics. Here’s a list of our favorite options, as well as some information you should know before making the purchase.

More: These are the best phone charging accessories

The best power strips you can buy:

Editor’s note: This list of the best power strips will be regularly updated, so keep checking back for updates.

Why do you need a power strip?

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

You’ve probably used a power strip in the past. They allow you to reduce the mess in your home or office by containing all of your wires in one place. These devices will distribute power from one plug into many devices, making them very efficient in power usage. Furthermore, they often come with built-in surge protection, which can keep your electronics safe if there is a sudden jump in voltage.

What to look for in a good power strip

A good power strip will be strong against all kinds of damage, such as fire damage and blunt impacts. You should also pick one with built-in surge protection to ensure your electronics aren’t damaged in case of a surge.

Try to find one with an energy absorption rating of 500 joules or more, which is the amount of energy it will protect your devices against. Finally, you will also want to check that the power strip’s surge protector will be triggered at around 400V or less.

GE 6 Outlet Surge Protector

General Electric is synonymous with quality and value. This item may not look as fancy as others in this list of the best power strips, but it’s an excellent option for those who seek simplicity. Outlets feature safety covers, and the unit comes with 800-joule surge protection. It’s also very affordable, making it a great deal.

Belkin F9H100-CW single outlet SurgeCube

This isn’t exactly a power strip, as it doesn’t have multiple outlets. We thought it was a great addition to this list, though, simply because we know many of you might not need an entire strip, but still want to protect a device from surges. Full power strips can get messy, too.

Anker Power Strip Surge Protector

Anker is another popular accessory brand, and looking at this product, we can tell why. The unit’s versatility and simplicity make it one of the best power strips available. It has 12 outlets and three USB fast charging ports. It also features surge protection by up to 4,000 joules, so it will keep your electronics safe. Its aesthetics are immaculate and simple to top things off, so it won’t look too bad if you decide to keep it visible.

Amazon Basics Standby UPS 600VA 360W Surge Protector Battery Backup

This Amazon Basics 8-outlet surge protector is also a battery backup device, and it’s ideal for computers and home networks. This can give you several minutes of continuous runtime if you experience a power outage, which is essential as it will keep your devices online, allowing you to save your work and protect your data.

APC UPS 600VA UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector

This is another battery backup device with seven outlets, five of which are protected by the battery backup system. Capable of running for more than 20 minutes at 100W, this is the ideal solution if your area is susceptible to power outages and you want to protect your devices and your data. It also comes with a convenient USB charging port for an extra device.

CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic UPS system

Need one of the best power strips with more battery juice? The CyberPower UPS system has 12 outlets, making it ideal for rooms with lots of devices. With 526 joules of surge protection and several minutes of runtime, should your power be cut off, you can use this power strip to protect your devices and your data from damage reliably.

Tessan Power Strip Tower

We’ve seen plenty of power strips with this cool-looking tower design, but the Tessan Power Strip Tower is among the best for the price. Let’s start with the design, which is clean and minimalist. But don’t let its look fool you; this Tessan power strip tower can take care of all your plug needs. It comes with eight AC outlets and four USB ports. The 10-foot cord is long enough for most needs.

More: The best work from home apps, gadgets, and tools

The only downside is that its surge protection isn’t good at 150 joules, but at least it can protect your devices to a certain extent.

Powsav 18-outlet Surge Protector

This Powsav is the best power strip for those who have serious outlet needs. It comes with 12 outlets, making it the most versatile power strip on this list. If all of those outlets weren’t enough, the unit also comes with three USB connectors and a USB-C port.

Plugging so many devices into a single device has its dangers, though. Luckily, the Powsav 18-outlet Surge Protector is up to the task with 2,100-joule surge protection.

Kasa Smart HS300

If you don’t mind handing out some extra cash, the Kasa Smart HS300 is definitely one of the best power strips with smart functionality. The official app can independently control all six outlets. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Microsoft Cortana also work. It comes with energy monitoring, just in case you want to keep an eye on electric expenses. Then there are the three USB ports, which can keep your mobile devices juiced up.

Now that your power needs are met, are you looking to make your home smarter? Check out the link below for some great recommendations.

The 14 Best Anime On Hulu You Can Binge Right Now

5. Girls und Panzer (slice-of-life and moe)

Girls und Panzer is a cute little show about girls who drive tanks for a school competition. It focuses more on interpersonal relationships than an actual story, but that’s kind of a trait of all slice-of-life shows. The girls inch their way closer to a national championship while building friendships. There is a lot of comedy and hijinks and despite there being epically animated tank battles in most episodes, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a good show overall.

6. K-On!! (slice-of-life and moe)

K-On!! is a slice-of-life show about four (eventually, five) girls in a school music club. They play music, eat cake, and develop their interpersonal relationships. K-On is one of the anime responsible for the massive popularity and success of the slice-of-life genre in Japan, so it’s an obvious choice for this list. The animation is also above average, as is the soundtrack. It’s cute, it’s fun, and it’s a must for slice-of-life fans.

7. Toradora! (drama and romance)

Toradora! is a romantic drama about two people with crushes on different people. They try to set each other up with their crushes and fail most of the time. However, the characters start to bond because they spend so much time together. There are some slice-of-life elements as well, but the romance part is the big draw here. It’s a well-paced show with some good comedy and dialog. Hulu only has the subtitled version and that’s a shame because a dubbed version does exist.

8. Your Lie in April (drama and romance)

Your Lie in April is a beautifully written romantic drama about a boy who plays the piano. He loses motivation to do so after his mom passes away but regains it after meeting Kaori, a violinist. Kaori has a wild personality and wants to do nothing more than play the violin with our humble protagonist. The show runs for 22 episodes in full and it uses almost every episode to tell the story. We won’t spoil the ending, but it’s an excellent watch for drama and romance fans

10. One Punch Man (comedy)

One Punch Man is an action-comedy about a bald guy who knocks out everybody with a single punch. Despite mayhem always around him, he usually doesn’t want much to do with it. The comedy gold comes with the contrast of building up a huge fight scene only to have Saitama wreck the villain in a single blow. Hulu has season 1 as well as season 2, something Netflix does not have yet.

11. Danganronpa (mystery and thriller)

Danganronpa is a mystery thriller with some light horror elements. A bunch of school kids are trapped in a game show where they must commit the perfect murder to escape. They are watched by Monobear, the game show’s host and main antagonist. The show holds few punches and is a good ride until the very end. It’s based on a video game and there are several other entrants into the series.

12. Death Note (mystery and thriller)

Death Note is one of the most popular anime on any streaming service. It’s a thriller with mystery and horror elements. A student finds a notebook that kills people when their names are written in it. A good portion of the show focuses on a cat-and-mouse hunt between a detective and the student. Netflix received attention for doing a live-action remake, but the anime is available both there and on Hulu.

13. Blood-C (horror and gore)

Blood-C is a gory action thriller with horror elements. Saya and her father defend a small, isolated town from a race of monsters that can possess everyday inanimate objects and use them to kill people. Those who enjoy action, death, and destruction will almost certainly like this one if they can stomach it. We don’t recommend this one to kids or anybody who gets light-headed at the sight of blood.

14. Elfen Lied (horror and gore)

Elfen Lied is a gory thriller with some horror elements. It follows the story of Lucy, a psychopathic killer with superpowers as well as a newly mutated race called Diclonius and a government conspiracy to wipe them out. The anime also has dark fantasy and science fiction elements that help drive the narrative forward. We can’t really tell you too much without spoiling a lot of the show, but it’s a good watch overall.

Honorable mentions

There you have it — these are the best anime series you can watch on Hulu. We’ll update this post with new titles once they hit the streaming service.

18 Best Horror Games To Play In Roblox

If you love horror games, Roblox isn’t just a platform for kids; it’s also full of thrilling, scary, and exciting horror-themed games that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. With its unique customizable worlds and interactive characters, Roblox has truly taken online gaming to an entirely new level, and with hundreds of options, it can be hard to narrow down the best horror games.

Many gamers consider Roblox to be for kids because of its blocky and cute graphics, but that’s not the case. The platform hosts many games designed for adults, including some of the best scary games. So if you’re ready for plenty of screams and jumpscares, read on to discover our picks of the 18 best horror games available in Roblox right now. Also, make sure to check out our top list of popular games in Roblox.

Table of Contents

Piggy is a Roblox classic. This game finds its way on various horror game lists, and for a reason. You can play this episodic game solo, or with your friends. The most intriguing part of the game is that it was based on the beloved children’s show Peppa Pig. This adorable children’s cartoon character just became a monster from a nightmare.

The main idea behind the game is to escape Piggy’s grasp. Piggy is always chasing you, and he is always right behind you. However, you also need to understand the nature of Piggy. Although very simple, this game has a narrative that you’ll follow to find out why Piggy wants to kill you in the first place.

This game is for everyone who enjoys the mystery of Japanese folklore. The Mimic is filled with jumpscares and an extremely creepy atmosphere. This game is only for true horror genre lovers. If you are fainthearted, perhaps you should consider playing it with friends.

Explore the chilling stories while playing different chapters. You’ll play different characters in each of the four books, and you’ll have a very unique gameplay experience each time.

Breaking Point is not necessarily a horror title, but it is dark and scary, and it’ll keep you on edge. It’s one of the most popular games on Roblox to be played with friends or total strangers. If you played Among Us, you will definitely love Breaking Point.

This is a game of social deduction and deception. You and your friends will play a murder mystery. One of the players is a killer and you all take turns in trying to figure out who it is.

This game is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is survive the killer, but there is a twist to the game. You either play a survivor and you’ll have to run and hide from the killer, or you play as the killer and try to get as many people as you can.

Although scary and creepy, this game is actually pretty fun when you play it with friends. There is a solo option, but Survive the Killer shines as a multiplayer game.

Apeirophobia is the fear of infinity. Imagine having to explore an uncountable number of rooms, and infinite offices of various sizes. Some are empty (and safe) while others contain monsters just waiting for someone to come to them. Some of the monsters are chill and won’t harm you, but others are aggressive and will try to kill you.

Aperiphobia is a horror game that scares you with a gloomy atmosphere. The feeling of impending doom is constant, and it’ll follow you from room to room. In fact, it might follow you even when you finish playing the game.

If you are a horror genre lover, you probably watched The Purge. Now imagine the movie’s story in the form of a Roblox game and you got the Break In. This epic horror game will keep you on the edge because crime is not legal for only a day, but for five whole days. The AI controls the evil killers that break into your home, and your job is to hide, evade them, and survive.

Have you ever heard of the Japanese urban legend Teke-Teke? It’s a story of a schoolgirl whose body was cut in half by a train. Geisha is a Roblox game based on this legend, but with some twists.

You’ll be playing a character trapped alone in its childhood home. As you explore all the nooks and crannies of the extremely quiet house, you’ll constantly have a feeling someone is watching you, until you see her. Geisha is always following you and you must avoid her at all costs.

If you like Alone in a Dark House, Finders Keepers should be the next game on your list. These two games share many horror elements such as setting, and jumpscares. However, Finders Keepers is played from the first-person perspective because it makes the whole gaming experience more immersive.

A demonic entity is possessing a family home, and the whole family is missing. You are playing a paranormal investigator ready to dispel the evil presence and find out what happened to the house owners. Your only weapon is a flashlight!

Bear (Alpha) is a game for 10 people. You can play it with friends, or complete strangers. Nine out of 10 people will play survivors, and the 10th person will play a big plush bear who shouts when he gets near players. The bear is the killer and he has a limited time to eliminate all 9 survivors.

On the other hand, survivors need to work together and solve puzzles. Each solved puzzle reduces the time Bear has to kill them, increasing the chances for survival. That means you’ll have to work together with other members of the team, and that’s where the fun begins. Although a horror game, you might find yourself enjoying the teamwork.

Zombies are all-time favorite monsters of many horror movies, series, and games. So it’s no surprise Zombie Attack is on this horror list. Although not quite as creepy or scary as other games mentioned above, this game will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat.

You and your friends need to survive waves and waves of incoming brain-eating zombies. As the game progresses, you’ll find new powerful weapons, but also new rare and much stronger zombies to kill.

In this game, you’ll have to solve a murder mystery. You either play as an innocent who needs to use his detective skills to find out who’s the murderer, or you play the killer and you have to kill everyone before they find out you’re the killer.

As an innocent, you can’t get the murderer. You can only expose him and call the sheriff. It’s the sheriff that has the weapon and can kill the murderer. Play it together with friends, and have hours of fun hiding and seeking. Work together to solve the mystery, or avoid being shot by the sheriff.

Doors can be really scary, especially when your task is to open a hundred doors, and there are monsters possibly lurking behind each one. You’ll never know behind which door your doom awaits. Doors is a first-person game that takes place in a hotel you need to escape.

You may bring along up to three friends. You’ll start the game in an elevator where you can acquire some useful items. The monsters range from jumpscaring screechers to some pretty unique entities that’ll want to harm you in different ways.

Get out of the Maze with just a not-so-trusty flashlight and a camera. Plenty of people love maze games. They are very straightforward. All you have to do is find your way out. But what if the maze was filled with creepy monsters that are out to get you? The Maze can be played with up to 12 people. Take your friends with you to help you fight your way out.

Based on a movie with the same name, Dead Silence is filled with horror and dread. Step into the role of an investigator who needs to find out what happened with Mary Shaw. She used to be a ventriloquist, and her spirit is now haunting the town.

If you want a single-player experience, check out The Mirror. It has a very simple premise: complete different tasks, but you’re allowed only to look at your reflection in the mirror. This game is a psychological horror game based on a real phenomenon. The longer we stare at our own reflection, the weirder it gets. You might start seeing things that aren’t really there, and you’ll start questioning reality.

This game is not your typical jump-scare horror experience. Instead, it relies on your brain tricking you. That’s what makes it a great VR experience as well.

Ever wonder what it would be like if you get locked in a huge IKEA store after hours? 3008 has the answer. In this game, one such IKEA facility turns into a prison, and you can’t get out. The Swedish furniture store is not a safe place and you’ll have to build your own base, find other players, and use them to survive. 3008 is a classic SCP game, and it was based on the original SCP – Containment Breach. A reason to love it even more.

With so many horror games to choose from on Roblox, you have plenty of options for the perfect spooky experience to suit your needs. Whether you’re looking for a game that will make your hair stand on end or one with lighter touches of horror and mystery, chances are you will find something that fits the bill.

25 Best Minecraft Texture Packs To Install Right Now

Best Minecraft Texture Packs (2023)

Please note that Minecraft version 1.6.1 replaced “texture packs” with resource packs, which take packs beyond textures and include other features such as music and fonts too. Whether you see the term resource or texture pack in-game, it’s more or less the same. Moreover, we have divided the texture packs into different categories for easy discovery and to help you make a quick decision. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and first understand what texture/ resource packs do in Minecraft and how to use them.

What are Texture Packs in Minecraft?

As the name suggests, the texture packs are add-ons for Minecraft that replace the original textures of this sandbox game, giving it a visual makeover. Some of the texture packs are smaller and more focused on limited aspects, while others change the look and feel of your entire game. You will find everything from FPS boosting textures to the ones you want to run on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

For each texture pack listed below, we include a comparison of what the game looks like with and without the texture pack. We have also added download information to make it easy for you to test them right away. But first, let’s understand how to install the texture packs in Minecraft before anything else.

How to Install Texture Packs in Minecraft

2. Then, select the option called “Resource Packs“ or “Texture Packs“. Whatever the option is called in your game version, it will be present at the bottom left of the “Options” menu.

4. Alternatively, you can also move your packs to one of the following directories for Minecraft Java edition:

%AppData%.minecraftresourcepacks (Minecraft 1.16.1 and later)

%AppData%.minecrafttexturepacks (Minecraft 1.16 and earlier)

Best Minecraft Texture Packs for Better FPS

Now that you know how to install the texture packs, it’s time to move to the part you have been waiting for. We will first go over the texture packs that might tone down your graphics but improve the overall performance.

1. MoreFPSPack

MoreFPS Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

The name says it all. This pack tones down the game just enough to get you 60+ FPS gaming on even the lowest-end PCs. The game looks more minimal than what you are used to though it doesn’t entirely take away the usual Minecraft look and feel when you start looking at the entities. Take a look at the quick comparison with and without this texture pack above.

Download MoreFPS Pack

2. 2×2 Texture

Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

True to its name, this texture pack takes the lower resolution texture change to a more drastic stage by making them 2 x 2 in resolution. For comparison, Minecraft considered 16 × 16 as the default lowest resolution in its native version. The developer has kept some textures at 4 x 4 to keep the game playable, but what you experience in this pack can look like a bug at first glance.

3. Pixelate

Pixelate Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

This texture pack isn’t too hard on the game when it comes to individual blocks but still provides promising results. Unlike other packs, it focuses on additional objects like fire, glass, flowers, and rain that might not need the most attention in your gameplay. It makes the FPS performance better with little compromises to visuals. If you need good FPS but not with a minimal world of Minecraft, this is the texture pack you should download.

Realistic Minecraft Texture Packs

If you have a PC that can take Minecraft to its highest visual levels, these texture packs might quickly become your favorite. One of them will require powerful GPUs or a compromise with the FPS to make it work, but it will be worth it. All other texture packs will run fine on almost every Minecraft-supported computer.

4. AlluringBliss

Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

This vibrantly styled texture pack isn’t heavy on your system but does a ton of tiny tweaks to make your same feel more realistic. From the realism in the fire to the way wood and soil textures are defined, this texture pack has a lot to offer. It gives you an overall classical knight-styled royal look to the whole world. Even sky textures feel like out of an archaic movie. To complete the feel and become powerful in this medieval world, we suggest you check out the best sword enchantments and best armor enchantments in Minecraft.

5. Andorhal HD

Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

This texture pack gives you a rich realism-based world. The colors are more vibrant here, and the textures are fixed at 64 x 64 pixels, which aren’t really high, but it will give benefits in terms of FPS. It’s slightly better than Alluring Bliss and requires a little more power but nothing beyond a medium-range PC. You will immediately notice the richer grass, new torches, and more textured woods when you enter a village. The other additional changes are discoverable as you move into the game.

8. Pastel Craft

Texture Pack Enabled (L) vs Disabled (R)

One of the best Minecraft texture packs, Pastel Craft focuses on colors and cartoonish effects but ensures that each block is identifiable individually. Many minimal or cartoon-based packs tend to oversimplify blocks so much that you have to put in extra effort to identify them. This pack is one of many limited ones which focuses on keeping quality high while using pixelation for cartoonish effect.
